World Development - Jechran
Quick question - I don't expect any kind of timescale.
Now that we have Ferrell (which is awesome by the way), are there any plans to add Jechran at some stage please?
Falcon would love the chance to return home and perhaps show her fellow Warrior Maidens around the place.

Life is never as bad as you think it is, although that doesn't help at the time.

I think Kurathene is next big push, then probably Toran Sharda since they're adding Wemics.
Personally, I would rather see Tyedu with the SoU Winter tileset, or Drotid with the swamp tileset from that badass Celtic Tileset before they made Jechran... if only because they're much easier to make, Tileset wise.

<Sili> I've seen septic tanks with less shit in them than Fuzz.
<Ronnin> damm not even a kiss??
<Chasmania> Kiss Fuzz? I'd rather fellate a goat.
<Chasmania> there are many roads to Rome..they just picked a shit filled alley full of scabby hookers and bums.
The shape of things to come...

I would love to see something with the Winter tileset - it looks great. I love the crunching sound as you walk in the cnow.

We try to go geographically if we can when creating servers. It's really hard if you have a server that's not geographically connected. Sure we can make boats and stuff, but eh... call it the systematic impulse in me.
After a few more donations, Silk and I are planning to buy a big monster of a machine that will be able to support 4 mods at once... commercial class server. That will free us up some space. Currently, we've got 3 machines running 6 mods. That's two mods on each, which is about the best we can do right now with what we've got. Whoever played on Deglos last night with 20 ppl on the 350 mhz understands.
USUALLY, after we add a module, we spend some time fleshing it out. I mean sure, we can add Jechran, Tyedu, you name it. But there would be nothing in them but boring empty lands. Ferrell got pushed up because someone I trusted offered to do it and they took their time for a couple months constructing it and then presented it to me essentially ready for quest inserts. That's rare.
Anyone remember when Wilderness was a huge tract of land with nothing in it? Look at it now. Well, that took us a long time and a lot of great quest builders and subcontractors to achieve, and there's still the top 10-most rows of T'Nanshi that still need to be fleshed by Vicky. Deglos will look a lot like that very soon, lots of land with little to do. Hell, Elysia still has places in it that need quest. Anyone remember Champion's Keep? The person that was supposed to do that got sidetracked by work. So now we have a huge empty thing in the middle of that city, not to mention a nobles district that could use some stuff. Even Mikona, our oldest server has people working on it to flesh it out with more quests.
My point is that we have a rolling plan to put down Avlis. We spit out a new (empty, boring) server, then we spend some time fleshing it out. Once that server has things to do and people who like to work on it, we move on to thinking about the next one.
I would really like the Kurathene Empire to be next. Praetor was supposed to be coordinating this one, but he disappeared. I have no clue where he is. So that's going to delay us.

The great thing about the Kurathene server is that YOU are going to build it. But that is not as easy for the Avlis Team as you think, because we're going to have to watch over everyone that's building and make certain that they are following the guidelines, as well as answering their questions.

I would suggest taht anyone who wants to build a fief should first paly with the toolset until you have become proficent with basic functions such as laying out tiles, adding terrain, objects, npcs, converstations, doors, and most importantly area transitions that work.
After you reach this point I suggest that you fill out a sub contractor app, and do some building/fleshing out assignments for us.
Note I will answer toolset questions for anyone, but I wont give you a large block of my time leading you through something step by step over ICQ, unless you are one of our sub contractors. Something to think about.
