Southeastern MChek: Port Name?

Post by Xeo » Mon Oct 10, 2005 12:02 pm

Where the Frilly Collar Inn is it seems like a small built up villiage/Port.

Putting "Southeastern MChek" into a search engine to find out background information on the villiage eg. NPC's, its history, its place and role within MChek, ecomany, trade, even perhaps the name of the Villiage itself is proving rather tough.

Since there are three docks built and one has NPC Sailor Halflings, the other has no one there (that does'nt mean that there is'nt IMO) and a empty dock. So IC IMO there must be a fair amount of trade running through that port.

Trying to research this area as much as possible. Is there information allready avaible on the boards? Is there a name of this Port?

I'll keep hunting but some help would be welcomed.

Thankyou

Xeo

Just need some general pointing in the right direction or I may have missed something IC.

It's the Dancing Kelpie not The Frilly Collar. It is also near Shyla's imports.

Oops yes your right Dirk, thx for the edit.

Doing some research for Housewomen Dala's Q&A Session.

Do you think I should do a IC letter to MChek Government for the information so I can back my proposal up?

What did the ferryman in Nireth say the name of this place was? Just M'Chek? I thought I remembered him naming it, but its been far too long since that ferry was in service.

Myself, I would love to see the coastal areas finished. there are great coastlines from Shayla's up to Twin Falls, then nothing until you reach the Blandenberg Protectorate. Even adding one more row onto an existing map and making it coastline would be fantastic. Ive always assumed the whole coastline from Twin Falls north was cliff up to Blandenberg, is this accurate?

Team, how about we just call it Kelptown, or Kelport, or something?

I have a house there.
I have always called it southeastern M'Chek, over by the Kelpie.
Everyone seems to know what I mean when I say it.

I think whatever it starts being called will stick, sort of like Fort Karr.

But would'nt the Government want a say in a "urban" area. Though it is small.... Fort Karr is a rock. Not a small port, with a few house's, two shops and a barracks.

Well it probably already has a name. If we call it Kelport that will become the name it always had, I guess.

I'm not so sure in giving a name ICly by the players.

Does'nt make sense. Its like changing Mikona to something like Carebear City.

Is it just a locals what they call it? Or its official?

I meant it will stick with the people.
Sort of like calling Philadelphia 'Philly'.

It might be called Port Grace officially but we could all call it whatever we want and if people like it, it stays.

To me this is like the Jonny Cockren deffence.

"Just don't make sense!"

Philly is fine... But an you really call something a nick name or a name without having a name in the first place?

Also Fort Graice, Fort Ony, Fort Effie..... All players names. To be honest you could have 10 different players all calling it something. I'd rather see a officail name given by the DM's IMO

I was using Port Grace as an example...

I call it home. I don't need a name for it.
Eastshore is nice.

Aye I know you was for example.

Just saying that if you have 10 players all calling it something. It becomes confusing.......

I'm afraid you have us confused with Elysia :D

I rather like the idea of a player derived name.
