Question about applying for access to private discussions

Post by Cemm » Tue Jul 15, 2003 8:42 pm

My apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I wasn't sure and didn't want to send a PM without asking somewhere first:

What is the best way to request access to a private discussion board?

I'm hoping to join the mage's private discussion board but wasn't sure if I should just PM the moderator or not. Hopefully this isn't noted in bold somewhere on the website and I've just managed to overlook it.

Thanks for any advice,

Cemm

It is much easier actually. Simply click on the link "usergroups" under the big banner that says "the world of Avlis" at the top of this page. It is right in the middle of the row of links there. Once you click it, you can see the groups you have joined and also choose to join a group.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Some discussion groups are hidden, and in order to join them you must write to the moderator - applying through "Usergroups" will not always work, FYI. Of course, first you have to know the group exists, and who the moderator is...

I appreciate the responses, thanks. I didn't realize the Usergroups menu could be used in this fashion and have applied for access to the mage's discussion.

As far as joining the discussion of a specific group, I'm assuming one would have to actually have a character joined to the membership of that group to join their discussion?

Thanks again,

Right. The exception is the Legion of Darkness which is now a general evil group I think.

That is typically how it works for guilds and such, yes. If you are interested in joining any forum and aren't sure if it is appropriate, ask the moderator.

Yes.
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.
