yeah its a ton. apparently it used to be worse/more stuff to collect. i think basically the guys mean it to be "if you're serious then you'll do it" and if you're not then you wont. your char can learn a bunch things in Avlis (learn means learn to do and get xp too!) including making potions. You can also have your char learn about mining, weaponsmithing, carpentry, tailoring ... A conversation with an AKN member would go a long way to making this clearer ... maybe a visit to F...

don't know i'd quite agree with the word 'happily' there. ;) Last night I spent close to an hour trying to finish my death quest before giving up (dont know if the bug was server related or i just got supremely unlucky). :( xp from crafting comes pretty slowly and it was a cow of a choice to forfeit...

i kinda guessed that the collisions couldn't be helping on teh server so i've tried deliberatly to avoid walking too close to npcs that i dont need to interact with. however: what to do with those nasty 'oiliey kenders' or whatever her name in in the mikona square who has a nasty heat seeking habit ...
