Re: Sprucing up ye olde NWN

See above for discussion. Simple instructions: 1. Make sure you have a system that can handle this (less than 2-3 years old, not a laptop with only onboard video). Disable the 'shiny water' option in NWN options. Back up your override folder. 3. NWNCQ Get the 1.3 'basic' version and the 1.3 'basic' ...

Re: Windows 7 + ATI + NWN = :seppukku:

Hi guys! Ressurecting this thread as I just had the same issue. Fixed it with some elbow grease! The problem is indeed with the new AMD openGL drivers, atioglxx.dll to be exact, in Catalyst 10.2 and 10.3. If you want to run either of these you need to use the 9.12 version of atioglxx.dll to do so y...

After spending half an hour, I've come to the conclusion that you'll have to code locks yourself.

Re: Secret Doors -- How Do They Work?

Check the comments of the code involved. There's a lot of secret door scripts out there: I believe there's separate systems for SoU and HotU, and I'm sure a custom Avlis one or two. The SoU is the most basic one and works fine, and is what I explain below. The script on the trigger determines the ty...

Just printscreen, paste in Paint Shop Pro, and cut the UI out of it. That's what I do, anyway.

I'm finding it much harder to get going than I thought I would ... but then it looks like it will repay the steepness of the learning curve ... Can anyone tell me if, having saved an area, I can create a character to go into it and explore the work up close? Or do we need the actual game engine for...

Oh, and for those interested in tutorials, I'm going to write one with some 'tricks' I discovered using the terrain paint tools. Just things that work well and look good. Probably going to put them on NWN2 wiki, I'll link it here.

As far as the lagging goes, I remember that NWN1 lagged a lot more in the toolset than it did in game. Hopefuly NWN2 is the same, so at least the game will run. It lags for me if I'm using a lot of animated effects, or if I have two or three 3d windows open at the same time (like when modeling and ...

It is pretty firckin' good. Very Happy Creating outdoor areas will be a lot slower, though. You're essentially a modeler and texturer when it comes to the terrain. The tools are pretty good, but it's simply a thing that will take time and practice. I would say spending at least a week creating the ...
