It appears that the servers are finally with us again.
We will be keeping an eye on the situation but let us know if you encounter any problems.

Avlis Servers Are Up and Running
Just a brief message.
As many of you may already have noticed the servers are currently not available.
For now we only know that the Internet connection has gone down and the reason for this is unknown.
We will keep you updated as we learn more or the servers return.

I might soon have a tool for extracting items from bic-files. Can't promise it'll be done before you need it however.

All servers have now been corrected, including Visimontium. Persistent storage should once again be safe.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: How to get someone high...
The necessary script name appears to be "11_fom_006", entered into the OnUsed field of the object without the quotes. The object tag can be set to anything. This script does not exist directly in any of the modules so you cannot edit it directly, but it is fine to simply enter the name as stated abo...

Re: How to get someone high...
Hmm, might work if one tag the object correctly and use the "avlis_onuse" script directly. I'll give it a check.

Re: How to get someone high...
It appears that all the necessary code exists in the script "jhr_i0_pipe" so shouldn't be that difficult to create an OnUse script around it (it's currently called directly from avlis_onuse rather than an tag-based activation script). However, we do have rules concerning custom housing scripts and s...

As a side note: Should the game for any reason shutdown while you are doing your deathrun, I'd recommend that you login with another PC to check whether it was the game or the server that crashed. All to stay on the safe side.

Re: - From the Team: Please Read -
Good question. As long as the server does not crash it should be perfectly safe to die and then later retrieve your items. However, should the server crash while you are doing your death run do NOT login with that particular PC until the problem has been resolved, as the automatic restoration proces...

We have received reports that stored items will disappear permanently when retrieved. This includes when buying from P-merchants. There is currently no ETA on when this issue may be resolved but we are working on it. In the meantime we ask that you do not attempt to buy or retrieve items, as we cann...

I think there is a compatibility mode for sound which might help you.
Find the nwconfig.exe file in the NWN main folder and check the settings there.

It seems to be hit and miss, perhaps due to driver compatibility with graphics cards and whatnot, but personally I'm having no problems.

Re: "FUNCTION IMPLEMENTATION AND DEFINTITION DIFFER" error
Changing the return type from int to void as Gorgon suggests will probably fix the particular error that you're getting. His other suggestions should help fix a few more errors that will come up as well. This error happens when you've got a so-called function prototype, which tells the compiler whic...

Re: In-Character Time Change Imminent
Okay, so I'm actually semi-joking here, but how about this to spark some conversation: Say your character goes to another COPAP world where time passes at a different ratio (I have no idea what they really are). Now how old is your character when it returns to Avlis ;) That depends on how good your...

Re: In-Character Time Change Imminent
Some further details about the time switch. Time before the RL date 2010-07-09 and the IG date 2231-7-16 (time of the import) will have gone by using the old 15:1 ratio. After this point it will be 5 times as slow, or using a 3:1 ratio. This does indeed mean that your human will still be 160 years o...

Re: HELP NEEDED; NWN very VERY slow.
That's the setting that usually needs to be disabled for NWN.
Since that didn't help, the last thing I can think of then is the AMD CPU patch, found below:

Re: HELP NEEDED; NWN very VERY slow.
First, try running nwconfig, found in the NWN main folder, and see if that resolves your problems. If not proceed. In the file nwnplayer.ini, also found in the NWN main folder, make sure there's a line "Client CPU Affinity=0" (or 1, 2..., just not -1) near the top. If not, add it. If you've verified...

Re: Seeing things
If someone is invisible then you can only hear him from a very short distance.
Similarly, if you're blind you can only hear others if they're within this distance.
It's an annoying Bioware quick we just have to live with.
