You won't become a lvl 13 commoner. You just won't have access to more then 3rd lvl spells. This only applies to Clerics and Paladins however, not rangers and druids... As far as I know anyway. Paladins and Rangers won't see much effect as they only have 4 levels of spells in the first place. Just ...

My assumption, right or wrong, is that the "playable" area is a small part of the total country. Granted I havent fully explored the playable area yet but it seems a reasonable assumption to me. Maybe sort of like texas?

I understand food supply is short, but I'd think there has to be (barely) enough food to sustain the popualtion or else you would see population shrinkage, not growth. (Famine is a basic way that nature controls a population.)
