Both of the above apply, plus there was a huge infux of applications because of that Bioware Wendsday feature. Plus I just noticed that Avlis is a featured PW on NWVault last night (the rotating ads). So while I don't know how many applications are coming in, I know its much more than normal. Don't ...

Avlis cannot be accurately described. It must be experienced. Role play is key here, and as a result, the world and its social structure are as diverse, unpredictable, and volatile as the real world. Avlis can be the greatest gaming experience you've ever had, so long as you commit yourself to its p...

A lot of times (seems like it anyway) players will hire on lowbies to do some work for them. It usualy involves just walking around for the most part, but you get familiar with the areas and you get some gold. If someone is really nice, they will do something that will get you some XP as well. For e...

This is too big and messy for me to propery reply so: XP || RP I don't see splitting the two. When either of my characters gets XP, its beacsue of RP reasons. Either they are bored and want to work out (so they farm) or they get thier asses kicked in a fight, and decide the need better training or t...

I am pretty sure that the server side term 'idle' compared to a character being silent and standing still are not the same thing. Yeah but how is that time calculated? What triggers it? What if a character wants to be hidden and has a very high hide, but low MS. It just seems like a huge pain in ma...

They also take into account that people may leave a character standing iddle while XP accumulate. A no go. You get booted off server if you stand iddle for longer than 5 minutes... And the problem with that is people who "observer" IC stand a good chance of getting booted for doing what thier chara...

Good and Evil characters play together all the time (bwahahaha) they just might not know it. When I first started playing, I quickly found the "hot spots" on my own and sometimes would just sit there. Eventualy people will come by. Feel free to say hi, and behave as you would in the real world (well...

And he's already said games like KoToR, Call of Duty, and whatnot work fine-- if they work, its not a graphics card problem. I actualy did have problems with NWN and not anything else installed, which is why I've been insisting so much on this topic. It tooke me a long time to figure out what the h...

I can almost guarantee its some problem with the video card, since ATI cards BLOW. :P But, you might want to try some of the more "less expensive" solutions listed above first, like updating drivers and reinstalling, etc. When I had this problem it was because I updated my drivers, instead of havin...

I had a problem with my old Radeon Drivers. What you may need to do in addition to disabling extra services and such is: - Uninstall your video drivers - Manually clean up your box removing all traces of your video drivers - Make damn sure not one single remnant is left - Note that I said to do the ...

Inventory Weirdness
Back in the day a DM fudged with my inventory (gave me some items). Things went crazzy, and I couldn't do anything with it (equip/unequip, see any entries, etc...) Eairlier today this happened as well after heading out of the spider caves on Elysia. I could use my inventory, barter, etc... Has this ...

I completely understand the over all thing. Some games rely on graphics cards more than others. NWN has a whole lot of graphics features that rely almost exclusively on the host system and not the graphics card to implement. One size fits all IS lazyness, or cheapness, or one of several other things...

Its not an issue of screw ups. Its an issue of optimization. I mean, think about it. Their driver architecture is damn near universal. Inherently, that wont be 100% optimized. Software advances over time. Optimizations would certinaly be part of it. I could see how one would get a few percent incre...

What I'd like to know is how bad they screwed up originaly to get that much extra performance out of thier hardware. If they are doing this now, why not when the card was released? I can think of only two things: 1) Allows the card to work beyond original factory approved conditions (like overclocki...
