I'd recommend coming up with a personaity/character concept you like and let the rest take care of itself.

I'd also advise you (and any newbies) not to invest any skill points into the Built-in crafting skills (craft weapon, craft armor, etc.) Avlis' crafting system supercedes these, making the irellevant. So spend your points elsewhere!

Mooge & everybody else, I think it's fair to say that new players will die a few times learning "the ropes." I'd recommend hitting a gaming store and checking out the bullentin boards for a gaming group near you. The coolest thing is they often meet in pubs. That's where Lager comes from! Hooray!
