Re: The epic ststem?
Avlis has been pretty dead lately. The forums are dead. I see no more than half a dozen people on every night and half of them are team members. I know people will say "it's because it is summer" but let's be real, this isn't 2006 and none of us are on summer break from university anymore. So where ...

Re: ESL Players!
I'll add a minute of silence for the ESL players who took more than a minute to figure out what ESL stands for. (I sure did.) Whoops! ESL stands for "English as a Second Language." When I was a kid that was what the classes were called for children in our school who were learning English ...

ESL Players!
A random shout-out to everybody here for whom English is not their native language. I only know one other language aside from English and even though I speak it fairly well I can't imagine trying to roleplay in it. So hats off to you!!

Thanks to my fellow team members for the time you put in, the diverse viewpoints you bring and the professional way that you discuss and decide on all of the issues that come up.
(And last but certainly not least, thanks for putting up with me!)

Re: Runtime Error
This came up again yesterday. I made some custom creatures ingame which used the bebilth armor-stripping attack and during combat with those creatures several PCs crashed out, as did I from the DM client. However, the Lizardons I used in the Nelthrope plot use the same bebilith claws. I spawned some...

Re: Runtime Error
Interesting... I wonder why I crashed out of the DM client? Or why sometimes everyone crashed out and other times only a few of us did?

Re: Runtime Error
Thanks for the info. For us last night: - there were only 5 of us in the area and no one else on the server - we all crashed out at least once but some crashed more than others (I crashed out of the DM client 3 times, I think one player crashed out 4 times) - the server never went down - the crashes...

Runtime Error
Last night I ran an event in the Fallen Crypt in M'Chek and everybody crashed out at least once in the temple area. (Ghostie bug reported it here .) https://dev.avlis.org/attachments/download/523/bug_crasharea.png I was just curious if anyone else has seen this before in that area or others and if a...

Re: Whirlwind
Commander Morgan if you'd be willing to write something up comparing and contrasting the feat and the chat command from a player perspective that would be very helpful. I could add to that some details about the script.

Re: Whirlwind
When you use the /wwa command, either by typing it in manually or by a hotkey, your PC will automatically attack every enemy within range (10 feet radius for standard whirlwind attack, 15 feet radius for improved). You don't need to target anyone. It's been awhile since I've used the NWN Whirlwind A...

Re: Whirlwind
Hamlet's recent development update mentions Whirlwind Attack. We haven't fixed the bug, which was fixed on Windows servers but not Mac or Linux (which we run). For details on the bug see here . If whirlwind attack is used against exactly three targets, the attacker will lock up, becoming unable to a...

Re: The Staff...
Big shoutout to the CCC for the new stuff they continue to work on. Bugs happen, but despite being a volunteer force, you guys were on that fast. I've seen people paid work half as hard! We all appreciate everything you do. Thank you! Thanks for the quick help identifying the issue and helping me t...

Re: NWN Enhanced Edition Notes and Discussion
Would it be easier to start from scratch? The short answer is no. We've got a person in CCC now who is dedicated to the transition to EE so they can add more detail if they like. But we're all volunteers and RL comes first and I can't speak for others but RL is pretty crazy right now with work and ...

Re: Avlis Quality Assurance Testers
A shoutout to the QA testers who sacrifice time they could be ingame to help test bugfixes and new content. And thanks for also giving a player's perspective and suggesting further improvements. Thanks to them you've got new Wilderness adventuring areas to play with. So thanks!

Re: Deider!
It started with a suggestion Tel made in a different thread for an animal dungeon, to be fair. We took that and Pleth's characters from her plot and the team went from there. Most of the work was put in by QA testers who ran through the areas MULTIPLE times and noticed errors and bugs and gave sugge...
