http://www.avlis.org/viewtopic.php?p=103510#103510 as to the other part of your question. currently a ranger can have any diety or even no diety in their diety field and continue to cast spells with no change. However, very soon we will be implementing a Divine casting limitation system, where you ...

I'm starting to see how it can make a huge difference. You know how enemy archers will aim at the party member with the lowest AC? If you have a ten person party going against ten NPC archers, each of those NPCs is checking the AC for each party member before they attack! If those ten people weren't...

Some interesting posts on the Bioforums: http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=370169&forum=56 If you're going to party at all, it should be small groups. As groups grow, the amount of information being transferred grows dramatically. 1 player shares info 1 way (self) 2 players share in...

Re: Using two bardsongs at once - Cheezing?
Would it be feasible to use first the cursesong and then the normal bardsong if he is in a party of 'likeminded' individuals to reflect the fact that while his music may harm others through the content those of a similar mindset would find it uplifting? I think that perfectly describes what happene...

Heh, sorry for the mess, Nob. I was just wondering if there had been a major change in terrain over the years, and you answered my question. I am familiar with the area around Nireth and most of it, IMO, isn't suited for mounted combat on anything larger than a wolf-- not to mention the logistical d...

It's a supernatural ability, right? Where does it come from if not the shadow plane? Just because it's a supernatural ablity doesn't mean it has to come from a given plane or divine being. Monks are filled with supernatural ablities, but these don't come from somewhere . Well, Monks get their power...

No connection to the shadow plane? Maybe you should post more detailed info on them from the DMGs, there's a total lack of background for them in NWN. Always looked to me like you weasels were channeling the shadow plane. It's a supernatural ability, right? Where does it come from if not the shadow ...

Truthfully, there is one avenue that the players can pursue which would lead to a lot of increased chaos, but in the end would wind up solving the war. Which side actually wins would be up to them though. I've always had some serious ooc reservations about that approach. It seemed to me that a conf...

I'll add that, if you don't talk to the players who dedicate their characters to the War, you're missing one of the most important perspectives. Having spent months laying the groundwork for various strategies, I'm finally seeing them start to have effect. You won't learn much of those from the boar...

Richterm's Retreat-- Nordock. They use the HCR set... Which I personally dispise for many reasons. So I think i'll have to pass on that. If I hate it for the reasons I do... I know my son won't like it. I despise HCR myself-- but I should say, I despise certain PW's blind application of HCR feature...

Richterm's Retreat-- Nordock. http://www.nordock.net The more popular servers have plenty of teens, and a few people bring their younger siblings along. A precocious 10 year old might like it. No profanity or PvP. Some limited CvC, usually with DM oversight. The scripting is a bit old (not sure they...

Question: PnP monks cannot continue to level as monks once they take level in other classes. In NWN they can. Does Avlis frown on this or not care at all? Was thinking of having my epic cleric train as a monk for a while, but I'd also like to take all the epic spells. In PnP, this wouldn't be an iss...

Sereg PCs
I think players could use some guidance when creating backgrounds for their Sereg PCs. It sounds like it's possible for Sereg to 'break-out' of their conditioning, including their drive to kill humans and who knows what else. If they do, can we assume that they are 1) mentally unstable and 2) immedi...

All that script it does is cause the PC changing items to become flat-footed (disengage from combat, stop casting spells if you were in the middle of casting one). So, don't worry-- they aren't about to make it impossible for you to change items in mid-combat. Just discourage you from changing items...

Discouraging PCs from mid-combat wardrobe changes
Some DMs have reported that there has been a lot of lag lately due to people trying to exploit a bug that is related to fast switching of certain items in order to get more actions - this can cause a significant amount of events and network messages to be triggered and will degrade the performance ...
