Thanks everyone, now that the servers work I can stop doing productive stuff and start playing the game like a good wasteful American.

I've been getting that on occasion. I think it is attributed to the lag that all the servers are experiencing. Even the server status page is affected (it listed Wilderness as Down) so I figured it had crashed or something, then when I logged in all my map trails were still there, so it hadn't crash...
