Reinstalling NWN went rather smooth, the run as administrator I forgot, but figured it out. Downloading hak files went ok, only the alpha is pending now, hope that is done so i can test it a little.
Looks it will be fun :-)

Do you mean upgrade to 1.66? If you used the 1.65 no cd version, you need to change back to the original exe. Then you should be able to patch to 1.66. Or download the critical rebuild from Bioware, that should do the trick as well.

Yes, every placeable, you can't usually walk through them. Not sure with the ones you can walk over though, hard to test these things on a stand-alone machine, it usually only shows with many people in the same area. But all little bits help. Bioware said once that 3 to 4 placeabes on 1 tile is the maximum, if you use that as average you'll do fine. I think the game version should be 1.65.8066. Bioware once wrote, a maximum of 3 or 4 placeables per tile was alright, more will cause lag, the area files will get bigger, takes more time to load, pathfinding will be harder etc.
Also don't place placeables on tile seams, that will cause lag as well, was their recommendation.
