Re: Help needed with extra and no voice sets for new characters
I did something similar to this previously. In my previous testing (of my version) I noticed that a few of the voices didn't match with the "spoken word", so for example the character would say XYZ, but on the screen it wrote ABC. However, it was a minor glitch and only occurred on 1 or 2 of the voi...

Awesome changes, imo. :good: Dirk: As Deider posted a page back, there may be more changes than is easy to understand just by reading the info. about the overall change. In other words, it may be worth finding out by testing whether Fred has an easier or harder time getting xp now, even solo. Maybe...

I just retired my gnome ranger Fred (again  ) because of the difficulty in leveling him. Basically, nothing he could kill gave any XP. The only way to XP from kills was to party-up and be tracker / scout, etc. But this new system would mean he would get same XP as if he was soloing, so basica...

I'm not saying, by any stretch, that you've buggered anything Deider! Wasn't referring to you. :) No. He was referring to me. And I said "screwed" not "buggered". And I didn't direct it personally at Deider it was to Team in General. And it wasn't even meant to be an insult or anything, just a bad ...

The changes may be better for some. I can certainly see how they will improve partying-up (and better balanced parties in particular). However, for my ad-hoc, limited-time, sometimes solo, playing style they basically do not work. For good or bad ... whatever, they basically mean that the way I've b...

I'm guessing here but someone did say that the change in XP calculation was specifically to promt partying up. Find yourself a meat shield and go whack things together :) Yeah. Read the above piece again. It's easier said than done. Also, to be honest... (and now I am getting very personal about my...

Well, I don't know who this Dark Cutlery fellow is, but he sounds a bit of an ass. :P Apologies for the mis-information. I really was under the impression that one of the Team Members had (way in the past) doctored the CRs on a bunch of critters to stop people using examine window badly. I guess thi...

*makes sure to check which forum this is in before posting* Well, that all depends on your lvl, and the lvl of the creature you're examining. If it is only 6 lvls below yours, then it is going to show as effortless, but it will still give you xp since the new xp system extends to 10 lvls above and ...

So, what you are saying is that all those adjusted NPCs that are brutally hard but read as "Effortless" are actually going to give 0 xp now? Is that right? Seems like they were made "Effortless" to stop people from benefiting from the "examine" window, but as a result it alters the XP system even fu...

New XP System and CR
Sorry, for yet another question on this... How does the new XP system (or the old one for that matter) take into account NPCs that have had their CRs altered in the toolset, e.g. those really really hard NPCs that you see that appear to be "Effortless". Is their real CR that low (and therefore you d...

Been looking into this myself for my character and I think the key is the full plate armour. In the manual it states the dodge feat is negated by any armour that restricts dexterity bonus. Now as I read that if you have a DEX bonus of 2 then Full plate restricts the DEX to 1 and therefore negates b...

Note that any kind of damage reduction or resistance will nullify wounding completely. by anykind is it blanket or do you mean specific? So if you had a dagger of wounding and someone had peircing resistance it would negate but what about other types? Anyone fancy doing an experiment? It would be i...

Does Wounding property stack
If I have Wounding (1) on, say some arrows, and I hit someone with them 5 times, does the wounding damage accumulate, i.e. they get 5 points per round (assuming they failed the DC of course)? Does Wounding work OK, or is it a bit like Vampiric Generation (which is a little dodgy due to server lag)? ...

Thx a lot!:) do you know a good internet resource where the other aspects are alss explained? thx This is a definitive guide for the version 3.0 of the DnD rules, on which NWN is sort of based. http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/srd.html It's not all that readable, but it is all there. Also, don't...

I'd want one.. but I fear it would de-value almost every other magic container and p-chest immediately. Plus, as noted, it would be a rich boy's toy only. Look, just about everything for sale now on Avlis is a "rich kid's toy", my character runs around with 23k gold. It is enough to keep me stocked...

Re: kinda makes fighters crappy
Well since you cant stack that armor skin, that sort of makes fighters crappy, Since they dont have any way to increase their AC or avoid attacks like lets say a monk. wizard or a thief can. Someone told back when i asked other ? on this forum that armor skin stacked if you took it multiple times. ...

What's nice about them is that they aren't useful in just combat, but crafters love them as well. Makes it much more manageable to walk around with 1000 pounds of Ore if you aren't slowed down to a crawl. Hang on a sec... are you saying that you don't get slowed due to encumberance (hmm.. is...
