Thats good news Aloro....I only ran the multiplayer beta after all..but the beta version was only out 3 weeks or so before it went gold, so I wasn't hopeful the release would be much better. How are you finding the controls?

Hard to say...I just couldn't find a camera/control system that worked for me without pausing and re-adjusting all the time. Which for me personally is a gamebreaker, but may not be for others.

I ran the beta on a dell xps 2 laptop, with a GF6800 Ultra card and 2 gb of ram, so not a top of the line rig, but it copes pretty well with Oblivion, and at least with Oblivion, you can see why you need a top end rig. Once I'd lowered all the settings on NWN2 to get it to run, it didn't look that m...

It wasn't the angle of the camera that was the problem. You can tweak that as much as you like. In theory the control methods are fine. In practice the camera jumps around horribly, meaning you have to pause to reposition the camera almost all the time. As you run along, it skips about all over the ...

I played a friends copy of the multiplayer beta, and at the time really hoped they'd fix the following: - horrible camera control system, much worse than NWN1 and not even comparable to most modern RPGs or MMOs. Most of fanboys on the bioware site seem to gloss over this, but for multiplayer, its go...

What Naieth said. My PCs discipline was between 40 and 50 by the end of the war, without buffs, and it saved his butt countless times, both against PCs and NPCs.

Both EQ2 and WOW have customisable UIs, and its amazing what the community has done with them. WOW alone has dozens of user mods you can install, some tailored specifically to various classes. E.G.Mages can have up to 10 toolbars for spells! So from a player point of view, having that kind of thing ...

Fox,
that sounds good, but you're only lvl23. Finding challenging critters once you hit the high twenties, low thirties, is a lot tougher. Elder elementals just don't cut it.

I'm not saying, by any stretch, that you've buggered anything Deider! I think the new xp system works great for most folks, I'm just not sure yet if it works for me or people like me, with random, limited playtime. I'll keep trying it for a few more weeks and then decide. I know you've probably thou...

I'm not leaving yet Deider, as I said, just posting my experience so far. I do have faith in the team vision, I'm just not sure it caters for all playstyles ( which in my opinion, is next to impossible), and if thats the case, I'll move on and certainly have no hard feelings. I'll keep giving this s...

Oh, and I will keep trying the new system, I'm not giving up yet, but I can only report on how I feel so far, which is vaguely disheartened atm. Its an incredibly tricky job getting a system so that casual players can advance, while hardcore players can't exploit the very tools the casuals use TO ad...

As a casual player, I can't find groups that easily. The ones I do are usually 2-3 players, not large groups. I don't generally have that much time to play, but I've played through a couple of dungeons in groups, and gotten less than 100xp total for a couple of hours play. Are all these epics making...

That was a problem, because epics were farming certain low CR dungeons built for lowbies. I'm not talking about those 'hated PGers', I'm talking respected members of the community. Groups of epics have actually kicked lowbies out of these dungeons so they could farm/camp This bit..and Deiders hours...

Apologies to the Malekites

I'm pretty rusty at NWN and CvC these days, and forgot how large an area of effect Wail has...so... sorry the fight was so short, I'll try and give you a better stab at it next time ( if there is one ). I really expected it only to take down one or two at the front. OOC'ly, I made it to the boat in ...

I always found it very useful..but that was with a very high SR item. Even then, it was mostly of use against NPCs, as PC opponents of any power would invariably cast Mords or spell breach anyway.

Is it possible to update an entry if a lot has happened to that PC since? I agree that one of the greatest rewards on Avlis is being a "hero" or legend..very hard to achieve as well. One of the keys to enjoying Avlis is realising that recognition ( in game, not just on the boards ) by your peers, is...
