Re: After nearly 2 decades, the Avlis Sourcebook is here
Thanks, man. The first thing I'd have to do is get an ISBN number and put it on the cover, but that wouldn't be too hard. Strictly speaking, an ISBN isn't necessary for Amazon anymore. If it's not a problem, sure go ahead. But don't let that hold you back. If a book doesn't have an ISBN, Amazon jus...

It runs just like Power Attack. Turns off if your character moves. Kinda a PITA that way.

It's worth adding that healing kits are much, much heavier to carry than potions.

Re: Fix My Build(Melee Edition)
He'd make a good "thug" type rogue. Knockdown/IKD your opponents to the ground, then Sneak them to death. If a fight starts going south, rely on Tumble (get it high enough, and armor won't matter) to break away. Forget about the sneaky skills (Hide/MS), but INT- and CHA-based skills will work fine. ...

Re: Character Build Question - Mages take a lookski
7) The great thing about being a mage is you get something new to play with pretty much every level. I found this great during epic levels when with some classes it come be 3+ levels and many many months before anything new comes along. That's an important point there. Being a pure-class mage, you ...

Re: Character Build Question - Mages take a lookski
Right, sloppy wording on my part. I always found getting de-buffed in combat to be no fun. Your buddies are busy fighting, and you spend precious rounds recasting just some of the spells you need. Your slots for the day empty out real quick that way. Being dispelled while soloing can end up being a ...

Re: Character Build Question - Mages take a lookski
One drawback to steelcasting with so many non-mage class levels are the Dispel Magic spells (Lesser, reg, Greater Dispelling, and Mords Disjunction). Dispels get thrown around more often than you'd like. Lotsa NPCs, PCs, hell, even some traps throw dispels at ya. It's pretty rough going to finish a ...

Re: Game crashes; computer resets
UPDATE: Computer crashed so hard last night it wouldn't reboot to Windows... 20 seconds after logging into Avlis. (NWN is the only graphics-intensive program I use.) Managed to get it into Safe mode, and there was noticeable of graphic artifacting. Anyhow, I figured that the video card was the culpr...

Re: Game crashes; computer resets
So far, I've played twice since the last big dust blow-out. Last time had the cover opened while I played. No problems at all. Looks like you guys were right on the mark. I tried touching chips on the video card but it's dinky and there wasn't really anything exposed. I'm planning to upgrade cards s...

Re: Game crashes; computer resets
Thanks, Grunt. First thing I did after reading your post was to open the case and air blast out the dust. *embarrassed* Yeah, it's dusty Arizona and I haven't done that in a year. Lotsa dust in there. I logged in to engage in a quick, graphics heavy spell battle. It did it* again, but recovered afte...

Game crashes; computer resets
A problem has been cropping up in my game, more and more.
Out of the blue, the graphics turn to crap, then a few moments later the whole system seizes up. If I do nothing, the computer reboots itself.
As far as I can tell, it's client-side.
This ring a bell? Any quickie solutions?
