New Haks to Download at your Leisure

Post by choraldances » Fri Apr 08, 2005 6:03 pm

Sometimes in the near future, the City of Visimontium will be the start of the Northern Deglos Mod of Avlis. Because of this, you'll need the following three new hakpaks.

jxp_master_a

http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/hakpacks/d ... 7000.shtml

jxp_mountains

http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/hakpacks/d ... 8773.shtml

jxp_forest

http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/hakpacks/d ... 6226.shtml

Or you can get it all in one shot, at the following link.

http://195.169.215.21/cgi-bin/avlis.py? ... S2/hakpaks

The rest of the haks necessary for the N. Deg Mod you will have already if you can play the current Deglos Mod.

Please download at your leisure, it will be a while before this mod is ready for service. :)

If you have downloaded all other haks, a new one for you.

I didn't say soon, did I? I say it'll be in the near future. :) It will be a while, but not too long.

I don't know... Just download it whenever you have time to do so :)

Do I have to put the files from "JXP_Master Compatibility Pack" in the NWN/source folder? All my *.2da files are there...

However, when I tried to copy the 2da files from the JXP_Master Compatibility Pack to the source folder I was told that files with the same name already existed, but with a totally different file size!

Now what shall I do? Overwrite them with the new 2da files?

And what about the *.set files? Do they go to the override folder?

Kind of confused... :?

Do NOT overwrite anything in the source folder.

Only folders that you need to place something in should be /hak (.hak files), /tlk (.tlk files), and /portraits (.tga portrait files). These are save to use.

In some extraordinary cases /override can be used, but you should be very careful with this and not do it when not absolutely sure; this might cause conflicts, especially when using .2da files.

If there's loose .2da and .set files in the rar, then I'd ignore them for now and not use them, unless choraldances or another DM instructs further on how to use them.
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.

Actually, choraldances just told us to install those three zip files in this topic... And the first pack contains many "2da" and "set" files. Shall I still ignore them? In this case how the new texturepacks are going to work for me? (Sorry, maybe I'm missing something  )

With "instruct on how to use them" I mean: tell you exactly where to put them.

I just downloaded the complete package, as instructed here:

There's three .hak files inside and nothing else. Those are:
JXP_Forest
JXP_Master_a
JXP_Mountains

All three go into the /hak folder obviously.
Since there's nothing else there, I can only conclude that's all you need.

yet so little time to enjoy it.

That's it! The problem was that I've downloaded the packs from NWN vault where they included some extra files... :)

I presume it uses the standard JXP hak order?

I dont know why I am asking this question, other than you can call it the curiousity that killed the cat, but hopefully not the Defender.....

Since is the first I've seen this thread, is there any rough estimate on this new mod, or has it pretty much begun to be built?

Thanks in advance.....

P.S. I know your policy of "it will be done when it's done" and agree with that.. Just looking for a month or 2 window when I can start getting excited....heh.

Thanks,
Michael K
