Master Server Downtime

Post by PlasmaJohn » Tue Jan 10, 2006 1:15 am

Bioware is doing some network maintenance in a few hours. This means that their Master Authentication Server will be offline. Due to this service outage, you will be unable to log into the Avlis servers.

The window in GMT is Tue. 0500-1300. In EST it's 0000-0800. If I have to bring the servers back up manually, that won't happen until after 0845 when the 2nd kid gets on the bus.

For those of you that love to spend Avlis downtimes on the Fight Club server, it's back up again, and updated with the current haks. (Note: Custom races, and psionics are still disabled at this time.)

Server: travellers.dnsalias.net:5123
Password: AvlisFightClub

Even Avlis has to go down when upgrading hardware, moving things around, or doing something that involves the internet connection that it's on, etc. This is something that happens. Learn to live with it. Not everyone can afford 100% redundancy that would allow maintenance without downtime. Even a company like BioWare might have a hard time justifying it. Especially with something as old as NWN. But also note that their website will be down too. So it affects more than just NWN.

Also don't forget the spelljaming test server, Ithilla, at orleron.com:5121.

No password. DM password is DMTest

It could use a good stress test.

Download the haks at ftp://orleron.com in the pub directory.

everyone should just head over to Fight Club...
Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.

Impossible is nothing.

Well, it's limited to 30 people because players complained about big teams not being fun. But I did setup the code to support more than one match going at once. So two squads on each team can go to different maps at the same time. ;) EDIT: And that code could really use some testing. :) *cranks up the player limit*

Ive been wondering why Mikona shows players online. Thought it might be a glitch.

I am still getting the message that it's down, and the servers are timing out. :(
