Introducing the Avlis Irreverence Awards 2003

PostAuthor: tindertwiggy » Mon Dec 22, 2003 5:18 am

Hello everyone, and welcome to our first annual year end addtion of the Avlis Irreverence Awards. Sure we recognize the stellar among us with such things as quest rewards, Role Player of the Month, and such, however, we the team believe it is high time to give recognition to other important facets of our player base. With that in mind, we discussed, brain-stormed, and came up with the awards. Some of us may never win role player of the month, but we sure can misclick and heal mosters damnit!

These are the awards for the not so stellar or laudable among us (With a few nice ones thrown in for good measure as well). These are meant to be irreverent titles of pride! They are not, and will not be politically correct. They are ours to give to our own with humor, malice, angst, and fuzzy feelings. And the categories are:

1. Fanatic '03 (Most Religious PC)
2. Funniest PC
3. Scariest PC
4. Most Original PC
5. Most Unoriginal/Stereotype PC (dwarven dwarf PCs, elven elf PCs, etc)
6. Best Monster Healer
7. Pussy Mage Award
8. The Middle
9. Most in need of a sex change (polymorph other?)
10. Most likely to die at any given moment
11. Zombie Award (most likely to be found online)
12. Most likely to give/recieve spite via sexual transmission
13. Power Gamer '03.
14. bset typeer awayrd (as in, whoeveer can;t type worth shit)
15. PC we'd most like to see dead, forever.
16. Friendly Fire '03 Award
17. Most Innefectual
18. INT 3 '03 award.

Here is how the voting will work.

Nominations:
On the list below you will notice two of every number. The first will have the award name. The second will be blank. Copy the list and paste it in an email (address soon to be disclosed). Put the name of the PC you would like to nominate for each category in the corresponding numbers blank field. Make sure it is the pc's name. One nomination per category please. If your email is not in this format I will throw it out. And please don't be a fuck and submit your nomination email multiple times from multiple addresses.

Remember that is PC name. And it is up to you to spell it right. Mispellings will likely result in the name being thrown out. PM the player if you have any questions about spelling.

Voting:
I will cut and paste all the lists, and sort alphabetically. The top three submissions for each category will then be posted and the voting may begin. As to how the actual voting will be handled, we are talking with polling companies in florida at this very moment...rest assured there will be an easy to understand process.

I am working on getting the email set up right now.

email: Irreverence2003@hotmail.com

Do not mail questions there, just nominations. Ask questions here so they can be clarified for all.

i just thought i'd share a story in lieu with one of these awards. A very long time ago, Jad decided to send an assassin to take out our beloved Kharak. In the ensuing fight, Kharak managed to cast about 4 empowered cure crits (at about 72 hp healed per spell, that's a shit load of healing) on the would-be assassin. The end result being that Kharak was felled and the assassin got away. There were two reasons this happened:

1) I was watching TV and not really paying much attention, after all, i'm a lil cocky when it comes to combat situations and, seriously, just one assassin?

2) In the single player campaign i have a character who has knockdown assigned to F8. In Avlis, Kharak's knockdown is F4 and guess what's assigned to F8?
Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

intentionally vague, great. This should make for one of the more diverse and interesting categories then.

Twigs

You have to explain the middle a bit to us stupid feckers....

Is it
best visualisation of 'mid life spread',
best character having a 'mid life crisis',
best 'middle earth' reject,
best person when caught in the 'middle of one of Jadd's undead fests',
best person when between two maidens of dre'ana,
best 'Middle of the road' character,
best person 'middle of the wicket',
best person to always stand in the 'middle of the front line',
best person 'not to middle with', blah blah blah blah

Since there's 18 things on the list, shouldn't "The Middle" be somewhere between 9 and 10? (Ducks)

Nah, yours is more biggest asshole. Though on the other hand, one wonders what sort of sick image it'd be if you're an asshole, considered a dickhead and people say you have your head in your ass.

Nope, too late for that now, n00b.

You've already got it, it's got spaces, and i'm too lazy to do it again.

This post is pointless. I blame you!
