Double couches

Another question:

How were these nifty double seater couches in the Rominin made ?

For what I have in mind single couches will simply not do.

Another thing: I realize that I can place invisible objects on various stools and thrones, thus creating a place to sit (with the sitdown-script of the housing.erf)

Alas, I cannot align the sitting position, so the avatar clips through the back of the chair, instead of sitting proper in it.

I'm sure someone did this right, but how ?

IIRC you can use two chairs (with the proper scripts attached) placed inside the couch.

you can also use the invisible object placeable with the sitable script.

But place them only on the floor or you would always sit faced to the east.
That way you also can make tileset features sitable. But as is said: it needs to be on the floor!

err... so how can I put it on the floor to make a tileset feature sitable ?

I mean, there's this feature (speak: chair) in the way...

Or is there some trick on how to stack things in the toolset that I did not notice right now ?

"The Canvas" is nearly ready, it just needs all the sitables and such to be in place...

*trying the thing with the chairs in couches now*

JollyOrc... login to my world. Look at the tavern in the castle. The couches have two seats using invisible objects. You take an invisible object, set it on the ground, add a sit script to it, and place it UNDER the spot you want sitable. For tileset stuff, this is hard, cause it wants to pop on top of... and that DOES NOT work, because it then NWN sets your facing to East, and disregards the orientation of the invisible object.

ok, I've tried it in the toolset, it's a pain, but it works.

Pity for the rocker chair on the tileset, would be great to have it working, but it's nigh to impossible to get the seat shoved down there.

Take a chair placeable, add the sitting script, then go to the appearance tab and select invisible object.

You can now place this object on top of couches to make them double couches.

You can also place them on the chairs and thrones that are static spawns in the tileset.

Careful with your wording.
If the invis object is NOT on the ground, you will always face East.

If you make the chair "appear" as an invis object, it acts like a chair.

This is the exact description of how to do this with the double couches given to me by Silk, and it has worked plenty of times when I tested it out.

thanks all.

I've successfully filled a room with lots of double couches, made all of the tileset chairs sitable.

Watch out for "The Canvas" coming into your favourite city as soon as everything is finished and I've raised the money.

It is impossible to get the invis object UNDER tile set placables.. And when I turn a normal chair to look like an invisible object, it behaves the same way as the normal invis object, floating to the top of the tileset chair, and making the character sit east.. How do you do it?

It' stricky I admit that:

You have to sort of slide these invisible objects under the tileset features.

it's ok when they protrude a bit to the front. The procedure is frustrating as the thing will constantly pop up, and you need to move it back and forth to do it just "right".

The rocker chair in one of the interiour tilesets is the meanest one.

Trust me Jad, it is possible. Just put the invisible seat on the ground, then slide it about half under the chair. Try not to touch an armrest or such a thing, as then the invisible object will bump up and sit again on the thing, instead of under it.

I'll send you a .mod with an example if you want.

I was having trouble getting sitting to work on stools and this worked great, just wanted to say thanks.
