More NWN and Avlis scripting questions

So, now that I managed to create a player housing area (yeah, yeah, it's six tiles and it took me over a year, but who's counting), I was thinking about creating a couple general areas. I have two or three specific ones in mind. They'll be small, no encounters, just some NPCs hanging around. I have a couple questions on the NPCs, though.
* It appears my faction choices were quite limited, to just the Bioware defaults. If I wanted to add an NPC with a faction of say, bloods, crips, or Raven, how would I do that?
* The portrait selection seemed to also be limited to the Bioware defaults. Can an NPC be created with one of the custom portraits that most of us have downloaded?
* Same for creating the NPC's avatar. It appears very limited, rather than containing all the shapes and looks that Avlis has. How would an NPC get one of the newer looks?

1. Ask housing, that is very likely something they'll do on their side if approved.
2. Haks should open up SOME portraits but don't expect anything from the optional portrait packs.
3. Again the haks should open up the appearance options. The wiki will go over the order to use in the toolset.

Sort of a rehash of what Sarm posted, but...
1) I doubt Avlis would let you add new factions for player housing stuff, but you can always ask. We might already have a few custom ones that would work instead too.
2) If you have all the Avlis and CoPaP haks added (in order) to your housing mod, you should have all the portraits available in Avlis. Eg. 174 human female, 111 human male etc. Remember that if you use one of the extra portrait packs, only other people who also have them will see the portraits that come from it, so many may see the generic dude instead. I also don't remember if you need them in override for toolset work, instead of the portraits dir, so try whatever gets you more if you do use them anyway.
3) Again, if you have all the haks added, you should get a ton of new appearance choices (hundreds of them), though if you want dynamic models, your choices are limited a bit.

This wouldn't be for player housing, actually. I was hoping to create a couple areas for DMs to use in Mikona. Re: the faction, I created an NPC, but I couldn't find most of the custom factions available for use. There were only four factions available, and missing the ones like Raven, Crips, Bloods, etc. Is there a way to assign those?
Maybe I have the haks added incorrectly...

Factions are, basically, server-side only. Its an incredible spreadsheet-like display of 30 or so factions, You should probably write to Madkat or Micah and discuss what you need it for, there might even be one already available for what you are wanting.

*goes into his usual advertising*
Better yet, apply to join CCC. Then you'd have access so you can see all the stuff Avlis uses. Factions, scripts, palette stuff (creatures, items etc) ... all that stuff is not in the public haks. If you want to do some area building in Mikona, you should probably see how it is already done. Avlis doesn't do things the same way as regular toolset/mod building, much of it to avoid the lag stuff you'd run into with such huge mods if done normally (and plain old size issues). Having access to all that would save having to "fix up" whatever you submit so it works better here.
*Wonders if RCon would be any good at writing dialogs for a bunch of stuff we need too*
