What a bittersweet Irony...(plea for aid)

Pelail to the community. I've a problem for those capable of guiding idiots thru tech computer probs.
The Prob...Some flaky outfit based in Latvia, has managed to insert a program on my comp that I am unable to disable. I tried e-mailing them thru their support link, to no avail. Therefore, about every 15-20 minutes, I get a 'System Alert' . Now this system alert drops whatever I'm doing (including NWN, I have lucked out and not had it happen when in combat yet)
The Irony...The 'System Alert' warns me that I have unwanted malware/adware on my comp, and perhaps I would like to buy their program to rid myself of these unwanted usurpers. The software is called "Spylocked"...
Help! (remember no tech geek onsite here, so make the help doable by someone with savy of a Chimpanzee (my apologies to the Chimps))
Thanks'
Jody

Every-once-in-a-while...I catch something, too. I think I once had what you have.
I normally use Spybot~search and destroy. It's free and does a goot job. You have to do a minimum of reading though to get it to work properly.
Spybot
and of worse comes to worst...go back to a restore point.

I use Spybot and Adaware. Usually what one doesn't cath the other does. And yes system restore is your friend sometimes.

Apparently this
.exe will get rid of it.
Otherwise, as others have said, try SpyBot Search and Destroy.

I remember I had some form of Trojan/Virus that duplicated itself into my System Restore file. Probably just so that it was that little bit harder to get rid of...

Thanks all, I do use Spybot & Adware, but neither seem to be catching this strange little 'pain in the tookas"...I'm gonna give rshamp's link a shot, if it doesnt catch it, I guess restore is up...by the way....

Try the following:
1) Disable Windows messenger (not the chat program)
Win XP
Start>Administrative tools>Services Then scroll down until you find the one named messenger and set it to disable. (right click> properties About halfway down the page is "Start up type" change to disabled)
Windows messenger is a tool designed for sys-ops to send a pop up message to everyone in the networks desktop. Many Spyware/Malware writers use it.
2) If you use IE switch to Firefox.

Make sure to get the extension called Flashblock (stops flash media from auto playing) and make sure to open the properties and turn off Java and open the advanced properties for java script and uncheck all boxes.
3) Go to
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5 and download the free version of their anti-spy ware program, install it, update it and run it. (I like it so much that I paid for a license for not only it, but when I needed a new anti-virus I bought theirs too)
Also you might find this site to be of help:
