Well, it seems things are mucked up decently in my system. Somehow, I've managed to do something which has lost all text from my start-up/Log-in screens. Tried system restore... failed. Tried removing program for reload (NWN Platinum Edition) from scratch...failed, I get an error message...

The InstallShield Engine (ikernel.exe) could not be launched, no such interface supported.

I am on MS XP, and could use some hints as to how to rid myself of this problem, so that I might reload NWN/Avlis.

try boot disc and loundch chkdsk to fix errorrs. After this try again reinstaling NWN - maybe this time ikernel will work.

If not - delete NWN from folder, and from register, make manual uninstal . Reset system. Than try again uninstal from "add programs" windows. There will be errorr that "can not find uninstal for NWN", NWN should disapear and you can install it again.

there is always Dark Side Way... format c: /s /q

google does magic with most error codes (BSOD's) such as 0X00008e, you could try finding solutions for it. or, if you don't get that, just enter that whole error message and do a search for it. if you need to uninstall stuf, MyUninstaller works pretty good.

Thanks to Wyrm & Kant for your replies. The first was a bit beyond my skills, while the second worked perfectly and only took 3 minutes (probly took that long 'cause Im slow).

This community is awesome, what a fount of knowledge you guys are.
