sound no more working

The sound in my nwn doesnt work anymore after a format in reinstall of everything. Soundcard drivers are installed, latest directX version is installed...but every buttons in nwn is greyed out. I can play mps music on my computer though, and videos. Also, the music on the splsash screen works.
I forgot something?

check the simplist things first:
Whats your volume settings in options?

If the sound options within the game are greyed out, that's a symptom that it's not seeing the game's sound dll's. (I just did this to myself).
Is the NWN/miles directory present and populated?

Try updating it. It might tell you that a criticle rebuild can solve the problem.
