The World of Avlis

Now i play the NWN original campain... in chapter 3 i have 3 tomes that explain how to craft a specific item.
I try to craft those items but nothing happens. I try to use the laboratory in the village ( the one with 2000g tax) and the one in the temple of the Creators ( Alchemist apparatus) but still no result.
Here what i'm doing. I put the proper ingredients ( for example for gargoil boots : gargoil skull and a .. b-something tooth ) and then i cast the mentioned spell on the apparatus/laboratory but nothing happens. I tried to cast the spell on the reagents but still nothing.
Apparently im making a mistake, but what. Help plz.

P.S. How can i play the Avlis? Do i need an original copy of the game ? Couldn't find such a thread on the msg boards

I've never played the OC so I can't help you with your initial question, but this I can help you with. In order to play on Avlis you need to have NWN, along with the expansions SoU and HotU installed. You also need working CD-keys for all three.

Then you submit a player app, here: http://www.avlis.org/portal.php?getpage ... ation_form, wait a few days for an acceptance mail and log on. I suggest you read up on World History information along with the rules we have on Avlis, while you wait for the app to be checked.

Yes, you need a valid copy of NWN+SoU+HotU with valid keys (either the Platinum or Diamond Editions will get all three for you). Bioware's Master Server will reject keygens. Keys can only be in use by one game client at a time. I strongly suggest not buying a used copy, borrowing it or "borrowing" it. I also strongly suggest registering the keys with Bioware, lock them to your playername and flag them as retrievable on their site. If you do not and lose the keys, there's nothing that we or Bioware can do except tell you to buy a new copy.

If you haven't already, you also need to fill out a player application (Note this is different than your boards account):

Talk to the chick by the apparatus. I think you need to start the correct conversation with her. IIRC, you then just cast the spell on the apparatus.

Apart from legal copies, keys, yada-yada, you definately need to download all the required haks, as listed behind the link on the front page of the forum. They are additional progrmas/scripts/whatever that are not included in the store-bought game but that are needed to play on this particular world. Without them, anything about keys and such is moot.

Legit game (buy from store) + haks (download through forumlink) + password (receive by e-mail after accepted application) = ability to play in the most addictive world i know.

You need to do all the above (have all the copies of NWN, plus submit a player's app) but in addition, to play on Avlis you must have all the Avlis haks.
