BTW, the Dragon article has a picture of the overland map, and it looks awesome! I only hope they're easy to edit in the toolset.

A couple of interesting screenshots that were posted on NWVault. A comparison of official NWN2 screenshot and of a similar looking area recreated in NWN1 toolset. For everyone who worked with NWN1 toolset it will give a very nice perspective on how big the differense between the two games will be in terms of area sizes.

The overland map is editable in the 'overland plug-in' of the toolset. Using it looked simple enough, if you have the map picture at least.

That was the overland map pic in Dragon. Listed as concept art on Obsidian's site.

I got to take a quick look at it today. It looked pretty good. The tilesets are pretty standard right now, but even if they don't add any more, they're still good enough for 95% of the areas in Avlis right now. It looks like they're won't be quite so much need for weird ass haks to take care of a lot of things.

Clothing is dynamic, and will show boots and cloaks and the like on your character.

Apparently monsters are also dynamic, which bodes well for non-standard PC races.

Resizing critters is also a cakewalk, and in the tutorial, you're able to cast Enlarge on various farm animals! :lol:

They were a bit non-committal about the DM client issue, though. Seems more than a few folks had been asking them about it, so maybe this feedback will encourage them to try to fit it in.

Unfortunately, I only had about 20 minutes to chat with them. Took too long to find them, as Atari's area was way off at the other end of the convention, in a different hall from the one I was working in. :evil:
