OK here is the deal I own the original CD versions of the game and was playing on my laptop. Needless to say I lagged like mad, so I bought two new desktop computers for myself and my girlfriend to play on. When I went to install NWN on my new computer I relized I could not find my SOU CD. Well I knew I needed to buy a copy for my girlfriend anyway, so I wend out and bought the Dimond addition on DVD, figuring I would use it to install on both machines using my old CD keys on my desktop, and the the new keys on hers. That should work two machines, bought it twice, fairly licsensed. Here is the problem, where the game did not used to require me to have the CD in the drive to play, it now will not run without the DVD. I even tried to copy it, and the program knows it is not the original. So what, do I need a third copy? Anyone no if there is a setting to turn that off? How about if I just reinstall the core NWN using the original CD, will need to redo all the haks?

Follow the instructions in this link. You should then be able to play the diamond edition witout the DVD in the drive.

Actually look on your laptop under the NWN directory for your nwncdkey.ini - That will have the list of all CD keys you need. I just installed teh Platinum version over my old CD ones with no issue. Just had to use the revert patch to get back to 1.66.
