Deciding to quit

I regret to inform you all that I'm going to take an "extended break", most likely indefinetly. Some things are going on in my life right now, and something that happened last night just kind of put them over the edge. Sorry to all that I've met on here, and to the DB especially. I might have gotten some people's hopes up about the DB getting back together and starting to get active again, and now it might seem like I'm just leaving you hanging, and for that I'm sorry. But I hear Xoc is back, so maybe you guys can have some good times after all. Like I said, there is a slim little glimmer of hope that this might not be permanent, but right now I'm pretty sure it is. See you later, God bless,.... and GAME ON!!!

Levis is a good friend and though I don't know for sure if he'll ever be able to make it back, I do hope his problems get sorted out the best they can, but rest assured that I will be there to support him through whatever happens to him and lastly I do hope to bring him back but I will not force him to if he dosen't want to.

Some times a small break is what helps out get things smooth and mellow. Hell I even went and drummed up a new char on a new server. To just take a change of pace, ended up having a great time yet got really sad because I missed my Avlis buddies..

Avlis will call you back.. There is no escape.. You can try all you want.. it's just not possible to leave.. No one gets out alive.. *runs around screaming* Were all doomed to play Avlis forever!

I got to hang with you once or twice with one or another character.. I thought you were great!.. So.. don't bugger off to long.. go crack open a case, drink lots of water afterwords. Get your grove on. (edited once to correct possible gender mistake.) excersise the demons (said in a southern voice) and come back to raise hell like never before thought of.

Girls ARE plotting to take over the world and institute a Jechran style Matriarchy.....

They're plotting against us.

*looks paranoid*

Hey, I hope things work out well for you! :good:

Yes, this is what the whole problem was over. After hearing me talk about Avlis all the time with my friends (darkfire, and highwayman) my girlfriend said.. well didn't come right out and say it, but she hinted that she didn't like me playing a game as much as I play Avlis. So, we talked and everything, and I was ready to quit, because I love my girlfriend very much, and I didn't want to ruin our relationship over a game. Because no matter how much we all love playing, it is still just a game, and RL is way more important to me. But she said she didn't want me to quit, so I decided to not play as much. I'm still going to play often, just going to cut back a little.

I know I said "going away forever" or something like that, and made it sound all dramatic and everything, but I was planning on not playing for quite a while... Anyway... I'm going to jump on, and hopefully see someone IG :D

Sorry if this was cofusing for anyone, I just got off work, and I'm gonna try and get an hour or so in before going to bed.

The first rule of Avlis is: you do not talk about Avlis.

... with your significant other.

Yeah, I know, now a bunch of you are going to post and say your significant other loves Avlis, or doesn't mind you droning on about it for hours, or plays it with you, or loves games as much as you do.

Congratulations, as a couple you make up 0.00001% of the population.

For the rest of us geeks who somehow managed to find a prospective mate despite our geekiness - and one who doesn't share our RP interests - life ain't as easy. I don't talk to my wife about Avlis. She has no interest in RP, and I can dig that - I have no interest in flower arranging, and I wouldn't want to hear her talk about it all the time.

When I was a player, I didn't play when she was awake. When I was a DM, I didn't play when she was awake. When I built/scripted stuff, I didn't do so when she was awake. Which left me to do those things when she was out of the house or sleeping. Which actually turned out to be great for us, because when we are together we do stuff together, and when she wants to go see some New Age music concert then I knew I could fire up the laptop and get in a good 5-6 hours.
