Moved.

No, this is an engine limitation. One of the Custom Content groups (DLA?) claims to have a working implementation, but they have yet to produce anything. At least last time I looked.

This was answered in your previous post.

Please take the time to experience Avlis as it was built. There are a lot of specialised scripts and items that make this a unique PW without horses. Honest.

The DLA team is working on a full featured, high quality horse system.

Yes, there is another horse hakpak on the NWVault, but I assure you that the DLA system will be far better.

DLA is currently under contract by BioWare to make all sorts of custom content for BioWare's premium modules. And, in fact, they are even working on a premium module of their own! (Though, sadly, not Dragonlance related).

The reason I mention this is that they are under a Non-Disclosure Agreement with BioWare on any content they develop for BioWare. They released a lot of information about their horses when it was still being developed as a hakpak.

Now? They are suddenly not allowed to talk about them anymore.

My speculation? Premium module followed by being patched in as official NWN content.

Even if that doesn't happen, there will at least be a hak released by them, and we will re-evaluate adding horses to the CoPaP at that time.

Either way, it'll be worth the wait.

Just a stray comment about DLA...

man they created a lot of high quality content and are pretty talented, but....

They never finished 1 DL module!!!

They suffered from feature creep. I would have liked to play those DL mods. oh well.

True, true. Perhaps we should skip past it and go straight to riding undead horses? 8)

I briefly commented on this in my post.

They didn't suffer from feature creep. If you don't want to take my word for it, please visit their forums and read all of their staff posts from the past year.

The simple fact is that NWN will not allow full party control. (Example would be BG2, but even it only allowed 6 party members). In order to do DLA1 properly, they need to have all 8 party members, and each one would need to be controllable. Something that NWN CAN NOT do. They even worked with BioWare on this to see if they could make it possible without having to rewrite large sections of the game's code. It simply comes down to that it is not possible with some vast rewrites.

While they wont be making a Dragonlance module in NWN because of this, they haven't thrown out their work, and still might make the module for NWN2 if the party control is possible.

Though I didn't know these details, I still think this falls into feature creep. They started out saying just multiplayer, then said both multi & solo, then I guess like you said, they stopped becasue the solo controlling all characters isn't possible. I'm not knocking them, they are a hell of a lot more talented than I am. I'm just thinking with all the time spent, and hype, its a little disapointing to not get a single of the DL modules from them. They would have been fun to go through.
