Positive energy and undeads.. A question.

Hi,

I have tried the search for this first of all, but had no success in finding a direct answer to my question here, though I believe I've read about it somewhere before..

My question(s);

Does positive energy have a damaging effect on all undeads? So all the cure spells does harm to undeads? - Or is it just some undeads if any?

Thx on beforehand ;)

Healing spells on undead heals them unfortunately. Or at least it did the last time i tried it.

Perhaps this should be found out in-game?

I think the cure spells one can be answered as its a bug, er bioware feature and therefore an OOC issue

Moved to NWN General Discussion because this is a game mechanics non Avlis related question.

Heal XXX Wounds, Heal, Healing Circle and Mass Heal will cause damage to all undead in NWN. However, Raise Dead and Resurrection will have no effect.

When fighting one of the more obstinate masters in the LRC where I could not get many hits in, I decided to try healing. Big mistake. my cure spell DID in fact heal him and he chased my wrinkely ass out of there. I am convinced that cures heal undead, not damage them. It was the only time I tried it.

I'm not sure the masters in the LRC are undead though are they?

:?

well, if they arent, they would be the exception, not the rule. Actually, that is a good question. Spose they could be living.

Divinia's Mass Healing spells were rocking in the LRC, though she didn't use them on the Masters. Oh, I tried to heal Nise with a scroll, but the bastard resisted. :D

I would also say found out in game... but since a lot has said already..

When i try to heal my zombie with a heal spell it damages him..

Dont make the mistake with demons and undead.. There is a difference between those both. Undead get damaged when you use a positive energy spell on them. At this moment i have gloves that resist 10% positieve energy and i am a palemaster...

Negative energy heals undead.. And if you would really want to learn something about this, either join the keepers or the palemasters group..

and to the keepers:

PALEMASTERS ROCK!!

Bah...
pale masters only started summoning undead because they couldnt find anyone til listen to them or be their freind. They started out as a tea and cake club but found out that even with free cake, the meetings werent worth coming to.

edit: I know this for a fact because I have three spies in your club and they tell me everything

That's because Sinomi is a horrible cook.

But didn't you know that the Keepers - other than Shen - are all actually pale masters working against Dagath?

Yeah, I can verify that healing spells harmed undead from Cha'reth's very first encounters therewith, almost 3 years ago. That's never changed.

Usually if a undead creature is healed by any Cure or Heal type spell that means that someone was a little forgetful and forgot to set the creature's Race to Undead. Either that or the creature just has very pale skin :P
