Hello my name is Nomar and i am soon to be 10 seed but i do have a prestige class open to me. It is the Blackguard, it is all that is open because of my Chaotic evil alignment.I am a Fighter. I was also thinking about going Fighter all the way to highest level if i ever get there *lol* Well anyway I am looking for others thoughts is being one class the best choice or branch off. The blackguard has not many great bonuses. I would've have my alignment changed but it is to late now. So any comments to help would be appreciated greatly. I will be checking back every now and then. You can post here or PM me it doesnt matter what ever suits you.

Dont take blackguard without oober charisma, not worth it

bear in mind also that Blackguard is the Malekite PrC so you might want to get friendly with them

But honestly do as Talwin said and RP it up, and as far as the charisma, it helps but not that necissary.

Yes, Charisma is icing on the cake, but even without it, you basically have a fighter with some nice spell like abilities, and sneak attacks, all with a fighter's BAB, and the taunt skill ( although using it opens you up to being caught flatfooted unless you're a barb).

I would say don't take the prc until you have all the fighter feats you want, or unless you are really stoked about rp'ing a blackguard.They are tons of fun. My main is a BG, and he only has a lousy 13 pts of charisma, though I do plan on boosting it. But he will never have a very high cha score no matter what I do. He is stoill fun to rp, and still has soome nice abilities.. He will just never be " uber", which on a rp world, isn't so bad.

I agree with what was said before. go with RP. and realise it will take you some time RPing to unlock the Blackguard... enough time that you will likely gain a few levels in the meantime.

if you are image conscious, do realise that blackguards have coolest looking guild items in the game... and that goes a long way

Small note about the blackguard,

unlike the paladins, if the blackguard has a charisma below 10, they will get minuses to the saves.

A minor point not so important as your RP, but just trying to help you from maybe being surprised by that.

Also, it goes without saying, charisma boosting items ( very very hard to come by on Avlis, I should know) ansd lots of Eagle's Splendor potions ( or a nice mage or cleric that can cast it) are your friend.

You can't be a blackguard on Avlis without being a malekite.

Mechanically speaking, the Blackguard is of course better - it's a PrC, designed to enhance a character.

However, Avlis is predominantly an RP server, and only followers of Maleki can become blackguards, and of course as a result blackguards must conduct themselves a certain way; so go with what fits the character. You'll be reasonably powerful either way. At higher levels of experience, it really doesn't matter.

Absolutely NOT worthing get everyday's shit on your face being Malekite CE while being new in a server and with a not so powerful class like blackguard. Unless you have i SOLID RP plan on being an EVIL Malekite character and much experience on {( CvC adding fun to other player, which is a long series of ethical rules you have to know) thing} don't consider playing a blackguard.

I take it your meeting with the Malekites you didn't get to really learn or talk about the Maleki way then. Seek out a Malekite and talk to them first. Maybe what you did can be forgiven if RPed right.

Learn why a order does what they do. This might explain thier actions. Also remember that this is a CE group and well expect chaos..

Since I have know the Malekites I have had a supieror RP 'n time with these people.. Loyal to order and protective of each other when the hell hits but a real wild bunch!

These guys are great and will help you obtain your goals.

other then that you can get PRC with a different groups holly warriors like the Dominators or some other group.

It's all how you RP it.

i have a question i had planned to make a blackgaurd i love them and play with them alot.... in this world.. who are my allies and where do i find them.. aka are there any blackgaurd / evil cults lurking around?

As stated above, and in many places, Blackguards are the Holy Warriors of the Church of Maleki.
Every Blackguard must worship Maleki, be CE, and is a member of the Church of Maleki by default.

Just remember folks a blackguard is not a walk in the park to play. It might sound cool to be one and all, but YOUR pc is the epitomy of evil and should be Rp'ed as such, you wil have many enemies and many PC's will shun your company.

hmm.....If your PC is looking at becoming a Blackguard he is going to be commiting far more inhumane and mostrous acts then the kllling of innocents. Think of the most depraved vile acts one can commit and who are on your way to understanding what it is to be a blackguard.

It's never to late for your PC to change his ways given enough time and noble and good acts.

Seek out the Reavers, Maleki's most Unholy Order. We're not a cult, but a Holy Order of one Nine Major Gods on Avlis. We don't sneak about hiding ( well not much ) but march around proudly stating we're one of Maleki's chosen.

IG look for anyone in purple and black spikey helms or armour......, post on the IG boards, I'm sure some evil git will take you under their wing.

As it has been said, it ain't easy playing a CE PC, expect trouble from other PCs ( though I have to say the players and RP is great 99% of the time ). The Reavers have no friends, at best only those who tolerate them, at worse we're KOS to most others. Mind you we do deserve it I guess

one more point to add: if you are seeking us out, your pc should know IG that we hang out in m'chek... if you are in carebear elysia, you will only meet us when we periodically come by to try to burn down the city (and we don't stop to recruit or chat on such outings)
