Does Immunity to Mind Spells Protect from Fear?

If I have Immunity to Mind Spells, e.g. from Protection from Evil or Potion of Clarity, does that protect me from the fear aura of a mummy?
In a test mod the result was yes?
But on Avlis, last time I tried it, the answer was no, and I ended up dying horribly as a result!!!
Can someone confirm / deny?
What about other fear auras, could the be different? e.g. it may have been an aura or touch effect from a crypy thing rather than a mummy. Would that make a difference.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: At the time in question it was a potion of clarity, and I'd only just quaffed it, so it wasn't like it had just run out or something.

My experience tells me yes, but then again it could be different since the Mind Immunity came from an item and not a spell. However, a few nights ago I watched a PC using Protection from Evil avoid the Fear aura given off by mummies in one of the crypts, so that seems to also work.

I resisted a huge fear aura with protection from evil cast and so did everyone I had cast it on. This was last week, I think.

From my experiance it depends on the alignment of the creature causing fear. Evil yes anything else no.

It should protect you. If it doesn't log a bug and I'll take a look at it.

There is a weird place in the wilderness (no idea what or why) that gave my monk fear. My overall bonus to the save should be something like 22, but I think there are some special circumstances involved, since it was 16 or so.

When I was there last (10 days ago maybe) the fear DC was 28.

Fear is a Mind effect, so yes. I've verified this quite a few times in various ways in the past, as well (including reading the spell scripts and testing it firsthand), so this isn't just theory.

Thanks for the response. Protection from Evil seems to be the thing to use then. Still, not sure why Potion Of Clarity failed... maybe it did just run out - they don't last long at all... but I swear I'd only just drunk it.
Maybe if I get a death-wish, I'll try again with it to make sure.
(If anyone else wants to try it was Mikona East Crypts with all those nasties.)

There is also the possibility of non-evil undead. Not typical, but possible. Infact, by the avlis definition of evil... All mindless undead should be TN, like golems are instead of evil. And undead with minds would be as varied as any other "race".
All they really are, are creatures liveing with negative energy instead of positive.
So, hypotheticaly... there could be parents who die and become good ghosts that are only restless until they ensure their children survive to adulthood. Sort of like Star wars glowy jedi ghosts.

Clarity only lasts for 1 turn (1 minute RL), and a minute goes by quick..

Protection from Evil doesn't protect you from the Howls i think. I know I've been feared by howl attacks in FoM even though I have Protection from Evil up.

Yeah, I know I use them a lot, but I swear it was about 5 seconds from drinking it before I was running like a little girl
EDIT: actually, I thought it was less time than that... certainly not long anyway.
I was invisible at the time, so they didn't see me.. but there were so many things with auras up I couldn't get out of effect.. so I kept running around in circles.. and eventually the invis potion wore off. It was a real mess. If anyone wants to try it.. be my guest.

I havent tried potion of clarity only or only mind spell imminuty in the Elysian crypts, but I go there often with the lesser belt of guiding light with fear immunity. I have asked this question of poeple more than once before and got yay's and nay's from different people. Whenever I DMed a PnP game, I always considered it a mind effect and thus protected my players accordingly.
some PW's ive played on had it so that clarity and other items and things that gave mind spell immunity would work against fear, and all types of it whether howls or aura's or touch inflicted, some others didnt. So I think its the preference of the server manager, although I dont know what the NWN default would be.
If it hasnt been doing that IG, then yes lets let doug know so he can fix it as he offered.

Well I would assume that Undead Giants would be evil.
