There should be a folder called 'tlk' in your NWN/ directory. If there isn't, create one. Put the unzipped file 'copap3_4.tlk' into that folder. Then, all of the .hak files need to go in a folder named 'hak'. You also need to install the CEP (you can get info about this at the CEP website), as well as both NWN expansions, Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark. Finally, your game version must be 1.65 - you can update from the 'update' option in the start menu of NWN. ANd then you should be right to go.

When I was first downloading all of the hak paks to get on to Avlis, I also didn't have the tlk folder. After creating one and putting the .tlk file into it, I found I still couldn't access Avlis because I didn't have Hordes of the Underdark (HotU) installed.

I can't confirm, but my guess is that the folder is created when you install HotU. Start up NWN, and look at the first screen that pops up. On the right, it should say "Hordes of the Underdark" and under that it should say "Installed" not "Available."

If you don't have HotU, you can't log on to Avlis.

Anyone else able to confirm/deny that HotU creates the tlk folder?

Can't confirm it for certain, but it is certainly a feature that only appeared quite late in NWN's life, so this is likely (it might only appear when you get a certain patch after HotU - can't quite recall). Either way, you need HotU to play.

Install NWN
Install SoU
Install HotU
Use "Update" feature of NWN to get latest version of HotU.
Then install the haks and the tlk files, and CEP haks.
