I was curious. I would like to learn a bit about the toolset for nwn and the dm stuff. Is there anything that anyone can suggest that I could read or look at to learn how to use the toolset for creating mods and such.

Check out the bioware site - nwn.bioware.com for loads of builder startup tips. Be sure to poke around their forums as well. In addition... nwvault.ign.com has a few various tutorials.

EDIT: thanks to Gorgon for getting the proper URL.

P.S. http://www.neverwinterconnections.com has a few forums on the subject as well, i think... more for DM's than builders.

Try this for a guide to the toolset:

I used to do Toolset work, but I forgot a lot of it over the past two years of inactivity. I think I'm going to download this file and get back into NWN hardcore...

...maybe.

You might also find http://www.nwnlexicon.com/ to be of massive help as well.

With that and the Builder's Guide you have practically everything Bioware didn't tell you about the Toolset.

*looks at the 7 whole pages in the NWN manual on the toolset and cries*

I would definately run through a tutorial module. I used the one from the Bioware site. It helps get started actually using things in the toolset without trying to think it all up on your own.

Once you have it done, you can run through it and see what you like and don't like, then start using your own ideas to flesh out areas.

The toolset is actually easyto use, once you start messing with it. Its the darn scripting that's a PITA.

Good luck to your learning, and just take your time.

Hah, Scripting is starting to get logical :D
I can script things without too much of a problem!
So...tinkering with comp science pays off lol
Seriously though, NWN script isn't too bad if you've done any kind of programing, and even if you havn't.
I did a lot of scripting for an old game now called Graal....and I have found nwn to be much easier.
Now....to find a PW which needs some scripting done.
*glances at Avlis and prods it*
