"Cheating" on attack rolls

I've noticed that NWN does some odd things with attack rolls. I've been hit in the past when the attacker's attack roll ended up being 6 less than my AC, yet they still land a hit. They did not roll a natural twenty either.
Has anyone else noticed this too?

Are you sure you were not flat footed at the time or some other non-standard situation?

I believe that for every NPC flanking you, they get a bonus to attack, but I've never checked this to be sure. There's at least a +2 bonus for basic flanking, and I'm not sure if that's listed on the roll.

the +2 gets counted into the attack roll for flanking, not sure about the flat footed though

I noticed this too. It is usually while my character is buffed to get that AC. Could it be some wonky bug with SR of certain creatures saving against buffs? Or maybe the computer misreads the actual AC?

I've noticed that there seems to be a gigantic to hit bonus for attacking flatfooted people. Namely in duels, people who I only hit on a 20 or better who try and taunt me seem to suddenly get reemed. I know being flatfooted has some AC penalty, but it often seems inordinately large. I'd wager that's what you are encountering...

Depends on whether they're dex-based or not. If Dex is a primary source of AC for you, being flatfooted makes a much bigger difference than if you get most of your armor from heavy armor and non-Dodge bonuses.

Flanking is the reason. And also, lag could contribute to you not seeing that you're being flanked

Never really used a shield, so don't know this. But does shield AC get ignored if the attack is from behind or non-shield side flank?
I'ver heard about these anomolies before, but never really experienced them myself, but them my PC isn't DEX-based, so perhaps that's the answer. Also, the engine doesn't always display all the modifiers (either on the PC character sheet of seemingly also on the combat log too). For instance my extra +1 AC for small size is not shown. I guess if you're a big guy then your -1 AC for large size will not be shown either. There's probably more such things that are hidden by the engine.

a couple of things
If your being Flanked, they do get a +2 on their attacks, but it shows up on their Rolls,
im not sure about Flat-Footed, but one thing ive found, is that if the server is hell laggy, then you can have problems like no matter what, those little bastards can always hit you it was a problem on the last 2 servers i was at when it got really laggy..
not sure if that was just me tho...
