Is there any problem in taking this feat.
As this feat involves a bit of crafting and knowledge I was just wanting to make sure that it was ok to take when I level up...I do expect to do some RP research...
Regards

dont take it ...
i belive the bioware basic creation feats are disabled ...
seek the AKN and your questions will be answered ...
(brewing pots does not require the feat!!!)

As far as I know none of the Bioware crafting skills have been implemented on Avlis. Avlis has its own crafting script, don't waste the feat

Potion Brewing ability on Avlis is crafting-level base, not feat-based. Crafting-xp is gained just like regular xp, except by practising making the type of thing you are practising in (alchemy, herbalism, weaponmaking, tailoring, etc.).
In effect you have not only your adventurer-level (charactgerlevel), but also half a dozen parrallel crafting-levels, each determining how good you are in the field in question and allowing you to take on more difficult challenges (be it combatting stronger monsters as you get more adventurer-level or crafting more complicated products as you gain more crafter-levels).

your char can learn a bunch things in Avlis (learn means learn to do and get xp too!) including making potions.
You can also have your char learn about mining, weaponsmithing, carpentry, tailoring ...
A conversation with an AKN member would go a long way to making this clearer ... maybe a visit to Ferrel is in order.

Thanks to all....
I kinda thought that could be the case...though when I levelled up to 3 last night, just before nap time, I got excited and choose it...look before you leap springs to mind.
Now if a kind DM could take me back down to level 2 by removing a hundred or so experience I will try to do this right.
I will be online tonight at some point (GMT) and will try the DM channel if I don't here of anything here.
I will also send this as a PM to a couple of people for advice.

good luck with that, as far as i know DMs will not do that As you are only level three you may be encouraged to start a new character instead

Yeah, the team have said that they won't do it, as if they do it for one person they would have to do it for everybody who asks, and they don't have time to handle all the requests. Which I feel is a fair policy and can't be argued with.

I didn't say this of course, but let me give you a gentle warning...
dying costs you 50 xp/level, and if it drops you below a level-limit, you'd have to redo the whole levelling process including taking feats and skills. That would be a real shame of course, so people avoid it as much as they can...
Note that i am in any way encouraging this...

Another round of thanks...
...and the delicate treatment of a newbie.
I havn't said yet in a posting but I am very impressed by the Avlis PW, the world setting, background information, maturity and difficulty.
Perhaps I should get back to tailoring and the making of a few large bags...they seem to sell well.

Just a few additions about the rest of CoPaP.
Moonsea was the only linked world that had Brew Potion active to my knowledge. As well as Scribe Scroll. Moonsea is no longer linked at this time, though Jester said something about trying to get the server back up.
The Crafting Skills, Craft Armor and Craft Weapon work on Hala, if you wish to invest points in them. Helpful if you just hate the style your armor comes in and want to look a bit more unique . . . Craft Trap again, only worked on Moonsea to my knowledge.
