Your log in status is saved in a cookie on the machine you logged in from if you check that checkbox in the log in screen. This means it won't be retained if you log in from another machine or for some reason erased your cooking since you last logged in here. There might be some other possible causes, but those have happened to me at least.

I have not erased a cookie yet....and all Avlis sites are set to always allow besides.....

I know, itsa really a minor niggle..I just hoped to have drawn my share of buggy cards allready...

Is it only Avlis.org? Does retaining log in status work for other sites that use phpbb (like http://www.copap.org for example)? One possibility is that a cookie got corrupted, so you could try erasing them (all, or just the avlis.org cookies) to get rid of them and start with a "clean slate".

You could have connected differently, i.e. if you type in avlis.org then the cookie from http://www.avlis.org would not be valid and visa versa.

Thanks sindol, I didn't know cookies could get corrupted......I'll give it a try.
