Epic dodge, bugged?

We tried to hit a charater with epic dodge. The attacks were made as sneaks, normal attack, and by diffrent classes, weapons etc. NO attacks at all was evade like the NPCs with epic dodge does.

Tested this in my own module, and wonder if someone tested it on Avlis yet, or if someone read about it as bugged.

edited: Did some research, seems be partly bugged for some and work fine for others.

What you are seeing (or not seeing as the case may be) is one of 2 things.

The first is that you are flatfooted. If that is the case only the first dodge actually works, after that you can get hit. I assume it works that way because after that you would normally enter combat. Once you are in combat Epic Dodge not only should work but should work better than is described in the book(it avoids the first attack to land rather than the first attack, note that it only avoids the first attack from your target. So if you are attacking something else that isnt attacking you epic dodge does not appear to work).

The 2nd thing is that Epic Dodge is working ok. However in melee you get no message to say that it is. The way to check this is to fight and watch what the attack rolls are doing. If you have an AC of ,say, 59 and the attack roll might say 18+45= 63 Miss. Then epic dodge is actually working. The message saying Epic Dodge:evaded (or similar) only works when you are getting attacked by ranged.

Ive done quite a bit of testing on epic dodge and Self concealment and while it is by no means complete these are your most probable explainations.

EDIT LOL too slow typing the message to get the first answer in. BTW I have actually sent a bug report mentioning about the situation where someone attacks you but you are attacking someone else.

Wanted post the feedback i got, if others wanted to test it.

Have someone tested Epic Dodge on Avlis? We did some attempts last eve to test it, with mixed results. So curious if someone else have done any tests here.

I would love to see some expert feedback as well. I was hoping to take this in a few levels but would hate to have it be broken.

Thanks!

Maybe you should wait until 1.64 to further test this?

Did something of a test on Hala.

Multiple golems very high attack bonus, but only one attack per round.

The message does NOT come up, and it will only work on the target that you're actively fighting.

And yes, first attack of the round only TOTAL, not first attack from each assailant.

Another thought on this though it doesnt matter much to me....just curious.

Arcane archers have a shot that cannot miss

Epic dodge makes first attack miss if not flatfooted.

Irresistible force mets immovable object....

What happens?

The immovable object moves and the irresistable force is resisted  . At least that is according to an Iain Banks book I read a while back........

Are you saying that Epic dadge doesnt evade attacks? :? I played on some PvP serevers and Epic Daodge was buged but it was evading first succesful attack so you could hit only with second atack... but Avlis is a different server.... :(

Creatures like the death spiders or orcs that have epic dodge as a feat on avlis evades first attacks each round. If you attack with a ranged weapon you see the message.

So far I only once with my char seen the attacks evaded. A NPC rolled a 20 and missed my char. I will do some tests, PCs / NPCs and try to save the action logg to read more close.

btw, how do you set up ini files to save such logg? To lazy to search..
