Bard song

I don't yet have access to the Bard private board, so I am asking these questions here:
1. Do all of the mentioned bonuses for bardsong (and cursesong) stack? For example, do the temporary hp bonuses stack for the duration of the song as you advance in levels?
2. Also, does the Taunt skill apply to any enemy? Can you taunt a black pudding, for example? (By urinating on it, perhaps?)
3. What immunities prevent cursesong from working against enemies?
Thanks

Yes

No idea.

I didn't think any do.. well, except deafness.
And a question of my own for whoever else answers: I assume that two level 11 bards singin at the same time stack the bonuses, so you will gain 16 HP, get double the hit and damage bonus etc?

When there are two bards in a group, only the highest quality song applies. Two bard songs do not stack. The bard song becomes more powerful as levels increase but multiple songs (i.e. more then one song from one bard or two or more songs from multiple bards) do not.
Hehe...that would be kinda funny to see an uber group of bards running around buffing each other with multiple songs if that were the case.

Awww, this *would* be great. Think of the harmonies! A barbershop quartet of sociopathic axe-wielding bards. Now THERE'S a party. Particularly once they got down the songs.

Your first question has already been answered so let's see about the two others:
2. Yes, you can taunt everything but the target must be able to see you, though. This skill is very underused right now and it really helps a lot.
3. No immunities will save your target from curse song, except for immunity/resistance to sonic damage and that would only apply to the damage caused by the song (if any). Also, targets in a silenced area have 100% immunity vs. sonic damage but all other effects from the curse song would still apply to them if you manage to sing in a silenced area yourself (there are a couple of ways to do it without any exploits). And finally, if your target has the deaf effect applied to him he will be totally immune to your curse song, that's the only way i have found to resist it.

Terrific responses. I know have access to the Bard boards, so I'll clutter them with my questions. Thanks, everybody.

Actually I believe it's the first song that is used that applies. If another (higher level) bard later sings while the first song is still in effect only the first song applies.

Yes, that's what I thought as well and what has happened the few times I've tried.

So what exactly does taunt do then other than allow them an OOO?

I think it lowers your opponet's attack roll. I know that it creates a penalty to the target's concentration and causes spell failure though.

Taunt is an opposed roll. Your Taunt skill against their Concentration skill with all modifiers included. It is based on Cha and can be affected by skill focus as well as favoured enemy for a ranger - +1 cumulative bonus against all favoured enemies. AC is lowered by the difference between your roll and your target's own, up to a max of 6. Obviously, you have to get a higher roll than them. Spell casters will suffer 30% spell failure as well if succesffully taunted. However, I do not know if this is a fixed value (most likely) or if it also has a range.

Thats not bad. What is the duration that it effects the "tauntee" for though?

Using taunt doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity, it just makes you flatfooted.
Alric wrote:Obviously, you have to get a higher roll than them.
Even if you get the same roll than your enemy he'll be considered taunted and he'll get 30% arcane spell failure. No loss of AC in this case, of course.

It did for me, someone taunted me while I was stood next to them, OoO flashed up and I smacked him in the face, lol (you were there, remember, the bandits outside Jacks).

That AoO you got was probably caused by movement in combat or by whatever other thing, NWN often gives AoOs for no apparent reason. Taunt doesn't provoke AoOs, i'm 100% sure about this after having played lots of characters who rely heavily on the Taunt skill (and one of them is my main in Avlis).

When I first started on Avlis I was playing around with possesing my familiar and, out of curiosity, had him taunt his mistress, Sarakin.
Imagine my suprise when she turned around and punched Asmov's lights out
I don't think it causes an attack of opportunity exactly, but it does seem to automaticaly cause the target to turn hostile and agressive.

I'd agree with that, and I think I just thought of a tactic.
Tared drinking grain shots + Orcish apple cider = charasima 24 (double his normal value) plus, 7 in taunt skill I think.
So if Tared Taunts with that....

Still will get beaten by anyone with a discipline higher than seven.

While not, strictly speaking, an attack as such, a Taunt attempt is considered an offensive action.
