Just installed HOTU..."versions don't match"...can

I just received HOTU. Installed it. Tried to get to Alvis and it won't connect ..."Client and Server versions don't match".
What's the fix??

uninstall HOTU. You will be unable to play on AVlis with HOTU until Bioware completes the 1.60 patch. This will update normal NWN to compatibility with HOTU. The patch was expected last week, but when Bioware moved offices it was delayed. The only word being that if the move went "well" we could possibly see the patch on Monday.
Sorry about that, but uninstalling HOTU will allow you to play Avlis again.

Revert or Reinstall NWN up to SOU.
Not sure if you can revert but......
If you want to have HOTU you need to have 2 NWN's, do a search for the thread "2 NWN's" and Strangg tells how to do this, and then upgrade one of them to HOTU and use the other to connect to Avlis.

I just tried to uninstall ONLY HOTU...It asked if I wanted to uninstall NWN.
Will it ask what version next?
Do I have to uninstall ALL NWN?

Yes you do,course there were posts well in advance I'm sure that warned people not to install HOTU until told to do so if they want to continue to play.Critical Rebuild is a pain in the ass,personally I think you be better off waiting it out for the patch,..play the single player campaign,it's actually pretty good.Best yet IMO.

There's another option if you want to have the best of both worlds. Of course, it will require an extra 5 gigabytes on your hard drive, so don't try this if you're running low on space.
First step, copy your NWN folder, and give the copy a new name, like NWN-SOU.
Install HotU into the original NWN directory.
Update all your Avlis shortcuts to run from the NWN-SOU folder.
PRESTO! Running from the NWN-SOU folder will allow you to log onto Avlis, while running from the default NWN folder will allow you to try the new features.

Please read the General Notice Area's -- invaluable information there. Hopefulyl you can get back into Avlis, as we wont be updating for some time yet.
Remember do not patch either until we notify everyone in the general area or announcements.
