well since it has a duration I bet it will not effect much except to get mages to party with fighter types and vice e versa. One more spell to use on the fighter quisinart.

Yah, I know. I read that and was like, "Well, I guess Hargas has a +5 warhammer now. Cool." I wonder if it works on top of my Frigid Hammer...

This spell will enable mages and clerics to better support the non-casters in their parties, along with flame weapon and keen edge for mages and darkfire for clerics. A high level fighter who's hasted with imp. invis, greater magic weapon, flame weapon and keen edge is going to clean house for you.

Vian can cast this on himself (although is pretty useless to him

hehehe)
Anyways... but have you seen the 4lvl spell... Holy Sword!!!
Turn your weapon into a holy avenger (1round/lvl) .... that means Vians sword will also be able to dispel on hit and do holy damage vs evil...
>:0)
all I can say is
feel the pain.
muwahahaha

Erm. Did they give the opposite to blackguards?

No, blackguards get screwed because their spells are feats rather than actual divination spells. My opinion is that if they are going to be truely anti-paladins that they should be able to cast as wide a range of spells at paladins can. But, as it is a blackguard is just a fighter with a couple extras.

The only real blackguard thing i noticed on a quick look to the manual is
"The character's evil and hatred grow strong enough to attract the attention of an Epic Vrock when summoning a fiendish servant from the outer planes. This vile creature is a master in the arts of melee combat and, fuelled by its master's evil soul, grows in strength and power as the blackguard gains new levels. Prereq: 21st lev, blackguard 15

That would impress me if I did not think Vrocks were wimpy.

Epic Vrocks are wimpy? Lets wait and see what their stats are first.
I thought a Dire Wolf would too be wimpy too for a level 20 character, but the companion-type Dire Wolf turned out 54 times stronger at CLvl 20 than your average summoned Dire Wolf.

Good question, anyone who has the expansion figure this out yet? Can sorcerors and bards still trade out old spells after 20? I would imagine yes, but who knows.

Fiddled around a bit.. here's the epic vrock stats from my test blackguard.
360 hp,
+31/+25/+21/+16 attacks,
20something spell resistance, some damage resists
27 (!) feats, most to do with combat ofc.
