The World of Avlis

Hello to all Avlis players, DM's etc etc

First i would like to apoligise for not entering the world of Avlis yet.....

When i sent off for aplication and was accepted. I made a innocent mistake in not finding or knowing that it is a SoU server too.

I do not have a copy of SoU yet becasue of that thing called money, lol which is in short supply...... But on the 25th of November a collection of notes will be placed into my bank account.

And a local trip to the Game shop to purchase SoU will be first on my mind before bills, rent and girlfriend (only joking on the girlfriend!).

I have been researching alot into Wizards, races and styles alot and up untill i enter the world for the first time.

i am making sure that the character i create is going to be a usefull and exciting and enjoyable one for all to play with .

So been mapping out skills and Personality and even joined the Avlis Mages Group.

The reason i am typing this letter or post is because i sow something which gave me a fright.

That due to the popular rise of avlis, that anyone not controbuting or being usefull to the world would be band?

I have read throu the rules and punishment even the pickpocketing topic and i agree 100 percent on everything......

Really all i am saying in a long winded letter or post

As far as I know you can only be banned for exploiting bugs, CKing with no good reason IC and a few others... Not contributing to Avlis? Well, this message in the forums indicates you're contributing

And being useful to the world? Well, posting on the forums, adventuring (Whether in a party or not) or crafting is useful to the world, just read this viewtopic.php?t=13110 and it'll tell you verything that CAN get you banned.

If everyone who wasn't *useful* would be banned...

Welcome to Avlis, don't be afraid. You don't get banned for little things here. It takes serious shit if that's your goal

If you don't play a character for a certain amount of time (I think it's 3 months) that Character gets removed from the vault. However, you are still an active Player and can create new characters at will. Long story short, make sure you login every once in a while with all the characters you want to keep.

My goals are all within the rules and character and stlye of my first character and really only looking to use one only..

Quick questions What is the lvl on avlis 1-20 or more?

Can only go up to 20th right now, that will change when HotU comes out however, then the cap is 40th.

I thought there was a Bioware download that allowed you to play even if you didn't have SoU.

Wow! just in time to have to buy Hoards of Underdark! Well better just save up that extra bit and buy them both at the same time. Usually the bigwigs running Avlis (i.e. Oleron ect.) will wait a couple days or weeks to see how broke the update will make Avlis and we will have to wait for Pap's OK and fixs. So you probably have until the first of December. Whats a week more when you haven't yet been exposed and hence fully adicted?

No, you need to have SoU to play on Avlis. There is no "SoU emulator" or anything like that available for download, unfortunately.

Banning is normaly reserverd for those who cannot follow the rules, and/or have a play style that ruins the fun for everyone else.

When you get SoU, welcome to Avlis

Looks like you're serious about developing your character, you will definitely be a good addition to our player base.

I think Alex answered your concerns regarding banning. Avlis has been around for more than 1 year, and I don't think we have double digits in the number of "player" being banned (Many are different CD's of the same person). That gives you an idea on our banning policy. It is rare and we take seriously on who deserve to be banned. You have to screw up in the worst shape to be banned.
