Coup De Grace and Invis?

This was a bit odd... and I have no idea if I could reproduce it, but somehow my character (Second Level rogue, first level fighter) who had been buffed with stoneskin, and imp.invis (That was down to only the 50% conceal) somehow managed to Coup De Grace a dire badger with a sneak attack. The badger was occupied with another Monk, and I think I was flanking... at the time I was using a Masterwork shortsword, and even with a maximized crit shouldn't have been able to one-shot it.
Admittedly I haven't looked over the Coup De Grace rules beyond the basics, and have no idea how they are implemented in NWN other than they are there.

In 3E, Coup de Grace is supposed to be a full-round action you can take to kill helpless opponents. They get a Fortitude save to avoid death.
Maybe it was brought on by lag. Or evil spirits. Yeah, that's my bet. Evil spirits.

I've gotten it several times when Hold Animal has been used. I would guess that Hold Person would do the same thing

Hold (Person/Animal/Monster) renders the target helpless, as does Sleep.

Indeed... except there was no Hold-anything in effect, and I do not have the death-blow feat. If I had been capable of dealing 50 points of damage, that might have been the implementation on Bioware's part, but obviously I couldn't.
Hmm... maybe if someone has a DMG or some errata on Coup De Grace and Disabled (0-hit point) targets? Although I am not sure if NWN bothers with disabled creatures.

Was the monk using Stunning Fist? That would explain it.

Stunned makes you helpless?? Why bother with... ah, I see now.
So... why can't I use a Rapier in my off hand as a "light" weapon?

Yeah, I wish Bioware never would have been built up, and they never would have developed NWN. Then I would actually have a reallife instead of playing avlis.
BIOWARE RULES!

Well, I don't have any books with me here, so I could be incorrect, but...it's because the rapier is still a size M weapon. Only weapons one size category smaller than your primary weapon get treated as "light" offhand weapons. Rapier being able to use weapon finesse despite its size category is because it is a special case due to the nature of the weapon, which is "balanced" by it doing less damage than any other size M weapon.
All of that, by the way, has nothing to do with Bioware sucking or not sucking, those are the rules from PnP.

It's called a joke friend... and a literal interpretation of the printing, just like stunning fist's implementation.
As I stated somewhere up there, I'd rather not get into the X sucks because Y is Z. Aside from debate/arguing for fun there is little gained from such things.

yeah but Z is really N on it's side, so you're wrong.

Dang, the smilie should have given it away...I guess being bored at work put me in too serious a mood to pick up on it
Besides, I like debate/arguing for fun, so there's always that...
