This is a placeholder thread for if you're having issues even getting EE installed, or even getting Avlis EE working, and would like additional help besides Discord to get help.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR BUG REPORTS

This isn't a troubleshooting thread for issues after you've already gotten into the game, testing beta, etc.

I got a your player name is in use message, or something like that, and sent a message to avliswebadmin via the link in some other thread. (Haven't heard back yet, I imagine there's a queue.)

Then fired EE up again just now to see what the exact message is, and got a different message:

Attempting to find server:
Direct connect and UDP hole punch failed.
Requesting relay token.
Relay access was denied.
Relay said: Server is unknown to us.
Connection to server has failed.

The server IP addresses I tried were: ee.avlis.org:5123, ...5122, and ...5121.

Beta is/was currently being taken down for some reboots/new stuff.

I'm going to be taking Beta down in a few mins while no one is one to push the additional fixes for racial/elc stuff
the ee vault will rest and your 1.69 characters will revert to what they were on friday.. there will be no db changes for now so crafting/quest stuff will remain as is from any beta stuff over the weekend

I am able to get on the Avlis EE Beta servers now, so thanks. and thanks to Avliswebadmin for whatever they did to make that work.

Guess what happens when you forget about your Steam EE installation and install the GOG EE version along side it.
Nothing GOG will use your Steam NWN install and CD keys.
But guess what happens when you click a bunch of things and half remove Alvis's files you've downloaded for EE and then redownload them.
The game freezes each time you try to start Avlis EE, causing you to have to do a complete reinstall.
Now guess what happens when you reinstall just the GOG EE version and forget about Your Steam installation STILL.
Avlis EE won't let your account log into it's EE servers using your GOG EE CD key's because you've already used your Steam CD EE keys as authentication for that account.
Now guess what happens when you log your second account in with just the GOG Installation, everything works fine but now Avlis has your GOG EE cd keys for your second account and your Steam EE CD Keys for the first account and you have to switch between the CD keys to get one or the other to work in Avlis EE.

Will Avlis be doing a complete wipe and a reauthentication on EE CD keys when the EE servers go into Alpha?
Will Avlis be updating OG CD keys used to identify accounts in EE? (I have diamond edition and OG cd keys, OG keys work for EE, Diamond don't)

We won't be wiping any of the existing keys so you'll need to PM avliswebadmin with the details of this post.

I believe he'll be able to review and sort out the issue. And yeah, Steam and GOG both use the same shared location for the same game.

Be sure to note (if I read the story wrong... ugh! Headache!) which account(s) are associated to which Key (Steam/GOG) so that it'll help organize.

I don't know if he's able to associate both GOG/Steam keys with your account so that you can use either one, but I think that might be ideal.

As for OG/diamond/etc those are how you authenticate and tie yourself to the existing accounts and then by association your GOG/Steam.

I uninstalled my Steam version and installed the GOG version to help with troubleshooting the other night without purging my NWN documents folder and it didn't throw any fit but I'll make a note to copy my cdkey.ini just in case. I'm not even sure which version that EE cdkey originates from anymore anyways.

I've only owned Diamond/been using Diamond on old Avlis for about two weeks, both accounts work in EE with the OG keys, It's just the Steam and GOG keys that I debacled and have to switch between and I know for sure which ones I used for both. I'll PM avliswebadmin.

Whatever keys you have and use, try to include those details in the PM.

You should never send full CD keys. There's something called a Public CD key that is used, which is made from parts of your full CD key, but if that is required, you will be informed how to do it.
