Under Advanced Video Options disable Shiny Water. Doubt that will do it, but it's worth a shot. That kept me crashing in Mikona all the time...but when in sight of water.

I would like to have said that solved it but unfortunately not , still get about two minutes before locking up, am running in compatibility XP mode to try and recreate what i know does work on my desktop but again to no avail :(

Rather than just disabling the shiny water, disable every graphical thing you can. Worst quality for everything.

If it still screws up, you then know it has nothing to do with anything graphics related.

Thanks mate , the laptop actually allows you to switch off the hardware graphics and run solely on the motherboard chip set which worked fine, so I reckon it is either going to be a certain aspect of the cards settings or the drivers in general.

Edit : turned out to be a driver issue, the laptops new beta drivers seem to run fine though :D Thx for help
