Spell Resistance

1. Say you have a gauntlet, helmet and necklace and they all add up to a spell resistance of 35. I am assuming they stack but that might be the first question I'd ask on the subject. Do they stack?
2. So you have a spell resistance of 35. It seems to be good against spells like magic missle. I am guessing that elemental spells that hit will still damage you. What about spells with death magic does it have some effect there? What about mind magic?
3. What exactly does a spell resistance of 35 mean. I know it's a good thing I was just wondering how good it is against spells other than magic missle?
Thanks in advance for your input.

I can answer the first question, in that spell resistances do not stack on items. The item with the highest SR is used.

1) Spell resistance does not stack, except for a +5 bonus from one of the Psionic powers (Strength of the Land, I think?), so your character's spell resistance would only be that of the best of those three items.
2) Spell resistance works against any spell whose description says spell resistance is a factor: check the entries for individual spells on the
Avlis wiki spell list. Certain AoE spells like the dreaded Evard's Black Tentacles may have purely physical aspects to them which ignore spell resistance.
3)

Thanks the NWN wiki had a bit more on it than the Avlis wiki. Glad I asked if it stacked or not now.

Note that most conjuration spells (like Evards, but a few others) will not be effected by SR, since their effects are very real (the tentacles are created, and then start attacking, so there's nothing that SR will do there, for instance).

Spell resistance is effective against the vast majority of attack spells though, so it can be awesome if you have enough of it.
To be of any use at all though, SR must be at least 2 higher than the caster level of the enemy casting spells at you.
SR is magical AC, the enemy roll D20 + caster level to equal or exceed your SR.
If you did manage a SR of 35, it would mean that anyone with less than 15 caster levels might as well not bother casting at you apart from a small number of spells that ignore SR.

I wouldnt frown at even a 50% failure due to your Spell Resistance. More so if you consider that many spells allow for a save so even if something gets through your SR.
*loves his SR spell*

Shh, don't tell them...I love when the uber epic mages just cast and cast, and my character says something to the effect of "Ooooo, pretty lights"

Pure Class Epic Cleric SR isn't too shabby either

Half-Dryad SR on the other hand is almost, but not quite, completely useless.
Poor half-dryads, they get so little love.

I have had items with SR 10, SR 12 and SR 14. SR 10 was pretty useless. The others can help sometime stop "annoying spells" from low-level casters, but basically once you are high enough level anyway you will make your saves. So, low SR is not so good.
I seem to recall that those deep gnomes (available off-world) get SR which increases with level. A would be more playable / useful I guess... if something similar could be done for half-dryads. Probably too big a change though.

To my knowledge-please correct me if I'm wrong-the racial spell resistance granted to races-such as Half Dryads-stacks with one item.
For example: A Half-Dryad has a racial bonus to spell resistance of 10. He puts on a cloak of 10 spell resistance. He now has 20 spell resistance, however, no more items stack after that.

No, it doesn't work like that. If it did it would be nice.

That is unfortunate.
