My Super Hero Room

I have collected super hero figures for a very long time. I use to collect comic books until I got married and then decided that I could not afford both a wife and collecting comic books, so the books had to go. Then my mother's house burned taking all my comics with it except for my #1-#6 Hulks which I had in the lock box. Luckily all my figures were at my house.

My wife has been wanting to finish the basement and on that suggestion, I thought "Hey, if she does that then I will get to finish my room in the basement for my super heroes", so of course I was all for it. I finally got my room done and my heroes put up this weekend. I just thought I would post some pictures here because there are surely a few out there like myself that are Super Hero fans. The basement was supposed to be mine when we built, but for some reason over the past 10 years, it has narrowed down to this one room. I have not figured out how that happened yet. I guess I should be lucky that she let me keep it.

Anyways, here is what I have so far. I am excited. Maybe a bit too excited since I was inviting a 4 year old from the church over to my house to see it. My wife pointed at me and said "Forty" and then to the child and said "Four" and grinned. Hey, at least he will appreciate it. ;)

Step into my humble abode.

A glimpse of the room. Ignore those Barbies on floor against the far wall.....Uh...those are my daughters.......yeah.

The Hulk is my favorite so he got his own shelf.

Now, let's start lining those walls and shelves.

My kids thought I needed a bed for the cat. I said not unless it is a super hero bed to which my wife replied "Oh, I have the perfect thing." I had forgotten about my son's old spiderman bed.

Hmmm...what to do with the posters now? Oh...look....the ceiling will take those.

Ha, I used to punch the hell out of one of those Wolverine Bounce-back thing when I was little.

My dad has a Hot Wheels wall in the shop, and a very good sized Star Trek collection. Might have to grab some pics someday.

Hah, this happened to my husband too. He used to have the run of the basement, and then he volunteered to move my desk and computer into the basement... ;-)

My guess is that the figures are not worth too much compared to what comics and things are. The #1-6 Hulks on the other hand are definitely worth a decent amount. That is why I keep them in the lock box. I just brought them home because my son wanted to see them. :)

I wish I still had my other 2,000-3,000 comics that burned! :( I would still like to kick myself. When my mother's house got hit by lightning, it started burning in the attic. I would have had plenty of time to run in the basement and get all my comics out, but at that time I was not quite thinking about that. About half way through the house burning I remembered them, but by then I was not going in there. ;)

I have a few worth some money.. but only one worth more than 1000.... a copy of x-men 94 I bought when I was 18 for 60 bucks :)
