Along the path to Avlis...

Does anyone know if Ar-kansas has paranormal anomalies that interfere with accessing GS? Had been logged on for a few minutes in the WIlderness, when I crashed. NP, just one of those occasional (acceptably infrequent) times when you step on a hidden trap door and you get dumped from Avlis. (sneaky programmers I suspect) So Im sitting in GS land watching the Avlis servers (all loaded in favorites) Ping, it was a wild affair. All the servers were flickering and stabilizing, only to wink out a moment later. The Pings read from -1 to 9xx. And then GS crashed, or so I think, as I stepped on another trap door and was dumped from GS back to my multiplayer game start screen. I could no longer access GS. So accepting my fate I went and raked leaves. That was yesterday.

Fast forward to today...No GS again?

Anyone else having this exp, or seen this before?

Same thing happened to me same time with Garth yesterday - was out collecting plant stuff in the Wilderness, game crashed (for no particular reason, other than maybe went over item count - was at about 350 at start. Usually I crash when high-level PC's come near, or with some monster spawns, or I enter a well-populated area. This was out in the wilds, not much around) about 12:30 EST, 1630 GMT, Tuesday. Not the usual problem, because can't log in with that character now - others are okay.

Any attempt to log in as Garth causes any server to time out and not respond....not sure if character bic is corrupted , I'm not seeing level 1 barbarian as I have in the past, but not seeing character pic; character levels show correct, but xp are for an alt, 2nd or 3rd level. Will post to restore thread if still can't log in later.

#1 - Presence of the Master, aura, radius: whole location, instant death, no save.
#2 - Here's your Automatic Pilot. Emergency exit status: execution in progress.
#3 - Misanthropy?
And now serious. That's been my personal nemesis for a few months now: my ISP is killing me. A friend of mine with whom we're sometimes on the phone while playing just gets me disappearing in the middle of RP, when there's no spellcasting / combat around (now, that's the issue #2 - my GFX/CPU can't handle it when there's some magic in the air, like Xmas).

The end of times is near! The beast of burden, the Ping, is descending on Earth! All your connection will disconnect, all your PC will hit a deathlag spike! Behold and praise The'ton - on your knees, maggots!

Well it appears you cant get to Avlis from Ar-kansas, at least lately. Mayhaps I am doomed to wander this alien speaking landscape sans Avlis...ah what a cruel fate...tried again today, cant connect to GS, get the retry message...when itell it to ignore the retry, I get a world of offline servers.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

What all that means...I've not a clue?!

So Im still in Ar-kansas,unable to get out. What i'd give for a witch and a tornado about now...

Jo'd: it means you have an old version of the MS Framework. Try DL'g the latest from MS. 2.0 or 3.0 should work wonders for you! :)
