New Emote Radial Menu

PostAuthor: Mistcaller » Tue Mar 08, 2005 4:09 pm

It was about time we implemented something like this, wasnt it? :)

Currently it is live in most of the servers, so we would like your feedback about it.
If you go to your radial menu and press your Crafting Skills button, a dialogue will appear with all of the emote wand functions.. and maybe a few more. ;)

As of now, the old emote wand will stop being handed out on login.

Enjoy!

Dont forget to thank Tissa for all her hard work on this! :)

As one who's playtested this, all I can say is that it is simply awesome. The emote stuff Tissa has added is fantastic! Good job, and thanks!! :D :D :D

It's not on my radial in Mikona yet. Maybe the next reset?

Here's my test. It does not work when I am invisible, but works when I am not.

Doesn't work when polymorphed. Either ignores you doing it completely or comes up saying "You cannot use your crafting skills at this time" but works when no-polymorphed (assuming it wont work for shifters either as they are tecnhically polymorphed).

Addenda: Doesn't work while under Greater Sanctuary, either.

Well, why should it work while you're stealthed/invisible/greater sanctuary? What's the point in trying to be unoticable and then frantically flapping your arms and legs to attract people's attention. No one can see you emote when you're in invis mode/stealth, or, anyway?

There are other functions, like dice rolls and saving.

And speaking of saving, it doesn't provide me any feedback when saving like the emote wand does. Wasn't sure if it was not saving or just not giving the feedback.

Tested it in Ferrell, though the save character function doesn't seem to work.

(It doesn't say that your char and location is successfully saved, and when I logged on my char wasn't at the place I saved)

Normal Crafting Menu doesn't work when invisible either, so I guess it is related.

This is great, thanks!

Tried it in Ferrell. Just two minor things I noticed: The "look right" command had my character look left. Also, the "bow" command had him lean back.

Love the sleep options. Makes it easy to sleep like I do in real life...tossing and turning. :P And no more trying to line up the avatar on the bed roll!

Thanks for all the wonderful feedback

I will look into these problem soon:
  1. “Save Location” isn’t working (Dralix) (uncast) (fixed in v1.1)
  2. Emote system doesn’t function with (all fixed in v1.1)
    1. Invisible (Katroine)
    2. Polymorphed/Shifted (Serineth Swiftpaw)
    3. Greater Sanctuary (NWDuneAuron)
  3. The "look right" command had my character look left : (Pessoa) (fixed in v1.1)
  4. the "bow" command had him lean back (Pessoa) (fixed in v1.1)
  5. unrecognized token in one of the dice roll menus (Heed) (was fixed by Mist in v1.0)
  6. Selecting "Look bored" exits the menu (others don't). (szabot) (fixed in v1.1)
  7. Selecting "Rest on ground" does nothing. (szabot) (fixed in v1.1)
If it isn't too much trouble submit a bug report as well, that way I can keep track of them.
I hope to be playing with them IG as well very soon.

You also have an unrecognized token in one of the dice roll menus.
