I would say yes. Email things like that to the team. :D

Mmm... amazing how a particular group of characters have been at that banded mail +3 for months now and only when Vrosh starts a character of that certain type does it get reported. Further reinforcing the avlis character vs real life personality opposition theory.

That particular drop has been reported (and fixed) a lot of times previously, so don't assume the worst. ;) It keeps creeping back in though...

Also for peoples information there is a very nice sticky on our board that says "DO NOT TAKE THAT ARMOR IT IS A BUG" the date of the sticky is Nov 18, approximately 2 days after I became aware of the situation. It would have been in place on the main board sooner had I realised people were taking it.

Does a once per server reset item count? You cannot really farm in that case, since it is only available every few days, etc. The concept is to prevent farming correct?

Just give me realy realy specific information of what exactly is ok, and what exactly is not, and I will find every single one and have it reported with details.

Which merchant do you mean 1000 gold value? Different merchants give different prices, so I need a certain referance merchant to get an accurate gold value.

Once per server reset couldn't possibly count... there are too many dungeons that blatantly have treasure chests at the end... :)

if a +3 item or other illegal item spawns every server reset then yes it should be reported. if you rush to get this every reset (even if it is every few days) this is farming. chests at the bottom of dungeons having something inside them is fine. its the Static nature thats the problem.

hope this clears up more confusion that it creates.

I am thinking of a chest that is extremely easy to get at. I'll look at it for a few resets and only take a moderate bit from it to see if it's report-worthy :)

(it's a weak magic bag that is somewhere newbie friendly every reset. Thing is I usually see high level people going to get it, so the obvious intent is lost :()

I think I know what your talking about, and if high level PCs are rushing to get that...well, its just sad. That little goodie bag should really be left for new players who cannot afford to purchase what is inside.

This is a serious issue and I would like to help, but I really need this clerification before I go on some witch hunt.

*I need a specific merchant to use as my gold value referance.
This will stop the possibility that I go to a cheap merchant and let items slide, or go to a high paying merchant that is broken and needs fixing.

*I need to know if once per server reset counts as ISD, and if it does, in what cases?
Do special NPCs that only spawn once per reset get a new higher limit? If so, what is that limit? Do chests at the bottom of dungeons get a bigger limit? Is a consistant 1k/+1 item over limit for EVERYTHING?

*I need to know any exceptions.

*This leads me to ask "What is ok to be sold by and NPC merchant?"
I looked in CoPaP and did not find anything about NPC sold item rules. So what is banned for sale? What is banned for once per server reset sale?

If folks are not given clear answers we cannot assume anything is right or wrong. I see a lot of "You should report stuff.", little of "This is exactly what you should report."

Wrath,
If you call up the CoPap articles in html format (I picked them up off the CoPaP homepage), there's a link to Item Balance (under article 3) that provides some guidelines for what you should expect to see with merchants.

Yeah, well see, the two referances say nothing over +1 enchantment, or +3 skill. That means, by the letter of the rule, that an sword that gives +1 enchantment, +1 vampirtic regeneration, +1 to every stat, +3 to all skills, +1 universal saveing through and +1 to every elemental damage type would be 'ok', but an item that gives +2 to-hit is illegal.

It gives no limit to gold value. It saying nothing about once per reset vs unlimited sold items. I have to assume that this is refering to unlimited stock items. I donot want to make assumptions, see. That is what this is all about, stopping the assumptions.

I'd like to say that Laen has two suits of +3 banded mail that he bought from NPC merchants working on the theory that they are rare enough for him top recoup at least slightly more than he paid. Please don't assume he got them illegally as he doesn't even knwo where to find them.

Not sure if its fixed now or not, but last time I checked there was a mithril splint mail (base ac 6 +4 enchantment bonus -40% weight) in the mikona markedplace. That's far and above what's being sold in mythos now at least.

Yet another vastly differing view on what is or is not 'ok'. I would prefer us players stopped makeing wild assumptions and got a real CoPaP agreed upon DM clearification on this subject.

An email to staff@avlis.org or a PM to any team member is fine. Please include as much detail as you can.

I know what dungeon & spell you're referring to, but spell-scrolls are okay to drop. I was referring to items that have the ability to cast spells higher then level 4 once or more times per day.
Items that can do this, but have charges are excluded from this list (made an edit to it).

Further more, please follow rshampshire's advice and mail the Team if you think you've found a ISD or exploit :)
